Seasonal Tastes
“Yes, I know, Mom. You won’t buy fruit out of season. So, we can’t buy peaches in November because they are imported. You have said it a thousand times. But, just so you know, I do have a taste for peach cobbler. Ripe, juicy peaches with crumbles on top. Or even peach pie. Maybe we can get a frozen peach pie.” She shook her head in disgust, clearly thinking I had not learned from her lecturing -what she called advice - through the years.

Can I please set of fireworks for Halloween
I love fireworks! Have you ever set fire to a fallen leaf? 🍂 Smells just like fireworks! Makes sense with this connection similarity for there to be a Halloween tradition of fireworks. The stores that stay around after fourth of July have Halloween fireworks. Got to experience these when I went to Disney World during Mickey Halloween for my honeymoon, but would be great to not have to pay Disney prices for a themed fireworks show in the fall.

basil & honey
The overdraft alert comes in while you’re pulling your espresso shot and you laugh—out loud, like a tired, old bitch, except you’re thirty-three, laughing alone in your kitchen—because you’re negative fifty-three dollars, and because you already know you’ll transfer money from the savings account you said you wouldn’t touch, and because some part of you finds humor in your hardship. It’ll work itself out , you think, and you don’t notice, not yet, that the sentence isn’t yours. You borrowed it years ago from a woman standing in a kitchen very much like this one, and you’ve been making the monthly payments on it ever since without knowing there was a debt to pay.

What If You Don't Need All The Answers?
Impermanence and Illusion: A Mind Without Conclusions By Chase McQuade I would like to begin this discussion in utmost sincerity and seriousness. I have seen endless, cyclical debates about the illusion that Buddhism points toward, and with it, the notion of impermanence. I believe a terrible misconception has settled around these ideas. They have become generalized abstractions, repeated with predetermined conclusions, often without the discussion that might reveal what we have actually understood.

A Supervisor of Renown
Martha, Salutations! I appreciate working for someone so detailed and specific. We knew that our work would get a comprehensive, fine-toothed-comb review, noting excellence and marking areas for improvement. You were my supervisor for an eventful ten years, so please know that I realize your insight was better than mine when it came to annual leave requests. Your life after retirement will be filled with adventures of your own making. Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement.

New Flags?
Link to the Challenge: It shattered when I wasn't looking; all that white was underneath (never noticed). Should I try to put them together? There are others who might like to have their own pieces for their own causes. Maybe they don't have to be just one particular colour (pink?).

For Mikeydred's short challenge
The golfers argue and make side bets about where they should aim: The pink pole with its striped flag? Or the black triangle painted on the green that points at a wavy two-toned flag. Definitely not the black pole with its flag upside down. The course is bizarre.
