Travel — Cards against normality prompt: A change of scenery can do wonders. Take your hero somewhere new.

List three reasons your hero might need to leave town right now.

Brainstorm four settings that would be challenging for your hero to navigate.

If your hero could call home who would she call? What would she say?

In the past, did your hero travel someplace particularly important to him? Is there a reason to go back now?

Well, what did you think of the drive, so far? "Fall is my favorite time of the year, so of course, I love it!" Why did we have to leave so quickly though? Now, I have to buy a few things, that I wouldn't have had to if we wouldn't have ran out the door.

"Well, we didn't exactly run out the door! It was just something I had to do. I just needed a break from the same old, same old. My pals were putting pressure on me to take care of someone. And I wanted to spend some time visiting the Vikings in Minnesota."

Okay, well, we still could've talked about this before we left. "No, I wouldn't want to be talked out of it. I know you are a big Packers fan." LOL, not funny. I have been a Vikings fan my entire life. I lived in Bemidji, Minnesota when they camped up there.

Just think, no losses yet this year! I love football and thank you so much for taking me to the next game! "Well, it's not the next game. It is the game on November 9, 2026."

Wait, what are we going to be doing until then? Are we staying there for a few weeks? I can't be away from my life for that long. I agree that you need a break, but two weeks? "Well, this trip is for more than a Vikings game, even though the Vikings are important."

What is going on? I have things for a long weekend trip, not for two weeks. You are making me nervous. "Oh honey, don't be, I will explain everything soon."

I think soon will need to be right now! You are scaring me! "Okay, well, I thought we would get married and spend a couple weeks seeing some friends of yours that live in Minnesota."

Oh, for romantic! We have talked about eloping before. And visiting friends in my old hometown before, but I never expected this! Thank you, honey! The whole trip is for us to get married? "Yes, but I still have to make a few phone calls to a few people, that may want to fly in for our wedding, like our children."

"I'm thinking Pat may fly in for the Vikings game, even if he can't make the wedding, right? At first, I thought we could surprise everyone by coming back married."

"Then the further we got away from the kids, the more I thought, we better give them the option. We can have our honeymoon first and then marry, right?"

Where are we staying while there. "Well, I thought we would stay with my son who lives in White Bear Lake. You forgot that is where he lives, right? He offered to host a small gathering for our wedding."

Oh, this is actually perfect, as I don't have to get all stressed out about who to invite, and I can blame this all on you. And who is going to say anything, as it is so romantic! And Grant is a wonderful cook and so I won't have to worry about the food. We will pay him for the ingredients, of course.

"I did think to pack a few more of your things, and I put them in the back before we left. There is not food and beverages in the cooler!" That is why we stopped at the restaurant, rather than a picnic lunch, as you suggested.

"I brought the dress and shoes you wore to the last wedding we attended, but you sure can shop for something else. I was hoping for a casual wedding?"

You are a tricky one! I am so excited about our next two weeks. And excited for the rest of our life together. "I love you, and I too am looking forward to our life together. Now, we had better make those calls!"
