Cut
Cards against normality prompt - 14
Author’s Note: These prompts are my attempt at working on writing fiction. I may not always follow the cards exactly, but it is me writing fiction. My first few attempts at fiction happened five years ago on Vocal Media, and on medium.com.
Kill The Hero — Cards against normality prompt: If your hero died right now, what would happen next? Who would keep up the mission?
Write a eulogy for your hero from another character's point of view. Could that character say any of those things while the hero is alive?
Jot down your character's last will and testament. Who would get her stuff? Would she want to be buried, and where? What would her tombstone read?
Consider options short of literal death: prison, coma, exile, alien stasis. Anything that takes your hero out of action can work.

"Cut! Okay, can we gather together here for 5?" the Director yelled out. "We have some good news and not so good news. This movie is ending, and it is up to us how it will end! So, I am taking all written ideas for an ending to the show. I should say it has been a good run, and I appreciate everyone's contributions. Thank you!"
"Hey, let's kill the Director? Or is it the owner of the production that we need to kill?" said our hero. "I have loved every bit of this production, and I have never had such a cool part in a sitcom before. How will I find something as cool?"
"Sally, what is going on? You know more than any of us just what is behind this. Is it the ratings? I heard the ratings are up now." asked Sarah.
Well, all I know is that the budget is always over spent, and the owner wants to cash out. The director is tired of the headache of directing and would like to give acting a try. And all costs have gone up. Everyone knows about that! So feeding everyone is twice the cost of what it was, for example.
Let's plan to sit down and figure out a great ending to this show. We can do it and they will let us if we all agree to whatever we come up with! I can take a few weeks or just one show. Has anyone been looking for work? What is it like out there?
I know we don't usually tell when someone approaches us, but now is the time to talk. After all, desperate times call for desperate measures, right?
"WELL, I am feeling sick and maybe you should just kill me off, then you could have an eulogy, a funeral, and a burial." That would be a nice ending to a 3 year run!" said Darla.
This is tough for all of us Darla. That would probably be the easiest. Maybe you could write the eulogy?
"Then someone can move and others announce they have a job in Hollywood, and still others can announce they are pregnant and plan to raise their babies off camera, or whatever the hell you want to do!" snarled Billy.
Sounds like an after show party, where we have some idea of what now! Can we think about it and come back together prior to the next shoot? I know I am interested in taking time to have these years end in a good way.
I will let everyone know where and when we can meet. Bring your ideas or email them to me.
"Thanks Sally!"
"Yes, thanks Sally"
"I knew this wouldn't last forever, but it has been a good run! Now to call my agent to find me my next gig. And it is okay with me if you decide to kill me off. Something original would be good, too!" noted our hero as she was walking off the set!
