Adaptation on Water Cake
I happened upon a recipe for Italian Water Cake and was intrugued. I had never heard of a water cake before so I dove into the recipe and loved the idea, espcially now that we are all social distancing and trying to make use of what we have at home rather than going out on a shopping trip. I researched and read a couple different recipes before I decided to make one of my own. I really loved the simplicity of the recipes and the plus that I could keep it in my repertoire for vegan friends in the future.

Coronavirus. We Need To Go Vegan Now.
I read a quote on Facebook this morning. Simple words yet a profound truth. "Coronavirus may not exist in a vegan world." Bang on, I muttered, as I continued to scroll to view the other wretched news. It is incredibly sad but true.

Gatherer's over Hunter's
Recently I decided to pick up a common but for what some see difficult diet trend, for no other reason that my curious nature and trying to save a few dimes here and there. Top 7 Date Ideas. Top Story - February 2020.
No, we don’t mean walks on the beach. We mean the fruit, have you heard of it? Mejool dates are soft and chewy, loaded with nutrients, and can be used to make secretly healthy desserts that actually taste good. Seriously- we bring our date sweetened desserts to work and they're gone within seconds. Whether you are dabbling with veganism, paleo, whole30, or whatever diet trend is out there, you can use them in place of sugar to get your fix. We're all sugar addicts at heart. Here’s how we date:

I Went Vegan And My Friends No Longer Love Me. Here's Why.
At the beginning of 2019, I switched to a vegan diet. No longer would I consume the produce of innocent animals. It was a long time coming. For the last eight years, I called myself a flexitarian, which was a polite way of saying I tried my best to follow a vegetarian diet. I’d occasionally succumb to the temptations of the flesh and feel guilt-ridden for days afterward.

Vegan-Zen
I can't, I can't cut out meat, cheese, EGGS! I love eggs! It would be too hard and I don't want to set myself up to fail! Before I began my new Vegan journey, I would say this or some variation of it, all day long. I could not visualize myself, making such drastic changes and being successful. I had been indoctrinated with the way I was eating, I, a young black girl from Chicago, was taught to eat while you could! Food was scarce when I was coming up, so nothing went to waste, our left overs, had left overs, and we were told to clean our plates! People were starving all over the world and we were lucky to have this meal. I knew the kindness of strangers, before I knew what the word "stranger" meant.
