Oscar 2023

As the 95th Academy Awards ceremony approaches, film enthusiasts and industry insiders eagerly anticipate the announcement of the nominees and winners of this year's Oscars. The Oscars, also known as the Academy Awards, is an annual event that recognizes outstanding achievements in the film industry. This year's Oscars was be held on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The COVID-19 epidemic has had a significant impact on the movie business, causing delays in both production and release dates. Numerous movies that were scheduled to be released in 2020 were delayed, and those that did get on screens had short theatrical runs because of limitations and closures.

This year Jimmy Kimmel served as the event's host.

Every year, between 50 and 60 films are nominated for Academy Awards, and selecting these features and short films is a somewhat difficult task. The entity in charge of the Oscars is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. There are two members-at-large groups for people who don't fall into any of the other categories, and there are 17 separate branches that represent various professions like directing, cinematography, and costume design. There are around 10,000 members of the Academy, albeit it withholds an exact figure.

The 95th Academy Awards had nominated more than 50 movies in 23 categories. A wide range of movies from 2022 are represented at the Oscars, from major blockbuster sequels like Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick to live-action shorts like Disney Plus' La Pupille.

With 11 nominations overall, including Best Picture and Best Actress, Everything Everywhere All at Once is in first place. The black comedy The Banshees of Inisherin and the German-language movie All Quiet on the Western Front are next with nine nominations each. To make it easier to browse the many performers, stories, production histories, and reviews of each film, we've gathered the essential information about all 2023 Oscars nominees.

Oscar wasn't the original name for the award – The award was initially named “the Academy Award of Merit”.
