Korean Style Venison Cups
It's a foodie's paradise!
Korean Style Venison Cups are mouthwatering venison strips marinaded and fried in a wok, then placed on Bibb lettuce and topped with onions, cashews, and sesame seeds. Yummy!
They look and taste amazing and are very light and diet-friendly. Plus, these cups are easy to make. It only takes about 15 minutes (minus the time for marinading) to make this healthy meal. You have to try it!
You can use whatever type of meat you prefer. Beef, venison, chicken, and turkey work well with this recipe. I use venison often because I typically have it on hand.

Korean Style Venison Cups Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds of bite-size venison strips
- 1/3 cup of soy sauce
- 1/4 cup of applesauce
- 3 tablespoons of lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper
- 3 tablespoons of stir fry oil
- 4 scallions, sliced on an angle
- A handful of chopped cashews, about an ounce
- 1 head of Bibb lettuce
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- 5 teaspoons of sesame seeds
Getting It Done:
- Whisk together soy sauce, applesauce, lime juice, ginger, garlic, and red pepper and put it in a Ziploc bag.
- Add the venison and let it marinate for 4-8 hrs.
- Drain and shake the marinade from the venison.
- In a wok, stir fry meat until outside browns nicely. This should take between 5 to 8 minutes total.
- Meanwhile, separate leaves of Bibb lettuce, which will be our cups.
- Equally, add the meat to the individual cups of Bibb lettuce.
- Top with scallions, sesame seeds, and chopped cashews.
- Squeeze a little lime juice over them and enjoy!
This goes great with rice and is the perfect meal for lunch the next day. Keep the lettuce separate from the other ingredients to keep it from becoming soggy. Then when ready, heat the venison in the microwave. Then put the cups together and devour!
Korean Style Venison Cups are the perfect diet food! They are low in calories, fat, sodium, carbs and have almost no sugar! It also is a good source of vitamin A and iron.
They might be too high in cholesterol for those of you on a special diet. All of the cholesterol in this recipe is from venison. Cholesterol in venison has been found to lower LDL cholesterol and increase HDL, so I really wouldn't worry about it. You could reduce the amount of venison in your cup if you are concerned.
I hope you enjoy the recipe!
