My sister-in-law used to sell vegetables and I would go to her stall to help out whenever I could. After 6 years of selling vegetables, they bought a house for over 1 million dollars and a new car for 160,000 dollars. In their words, they had no problem making $150,000 to $200,000 a year selling vegetables. But when they got a house and a car, they transferred their vegetable stall to another business. What is the reason for transferring a stall that you know is profitable? Let me go to the market every day to buy vegetables to tell you the answer, but also to let people who intend to do this business have a reference.

My sister started selling vegetables in 2012. At that time there was a brand new vegetable market tender and my aunt bid on a relatively well-located vegetable stall and rented it for a monthly capital of 1200 yuan. The deposit was RMB8,000, although the deposit was refundable at the end of the contract.

The young aunt started as a retailer only, the kind who just keeps to the stall and sells vegetables, and the vegetables are relatively small. From six or seven in the morning, uncles and aunties came one after another to buy a green vegetable for 3 yuan, 5 yuan, 10 yuan, or, 20 yuan. If you buy more than 10 yuan, you get a few green onions for free.

Every morning around 3 to 4 am, my aunt and uncle would drive their minivan to the main vegetable market to get the vegetables.

It was almost dawn when they got the vegetables back, so they worked non-stop to sort the vegetables on the shelves and arrange them neatly because some buyers came early and people came to the vegetable stalls as soon as the market opened. By 6-7 pm, the market was bustling with people buying vegetables, and my sister and aunt began to select vegetables, weigh them, collect money and make changes in an orderly manner.

After a year of doing this, they did a rough calculation and made about 100,000 yuan. (Retail)

Later, the two young aunts began to balance the canteen and restaurant business. They usually place orders a day in advance, and by 9.30 am, the food is prepared and delivered directly to the canteen or restaurant by the order. (Retail + delivery)

In this way, they went from having only a small van as their entire household to buying a house with a total value of about 1 million dollars and a 160,000-dollar car 6 years later.

The initial cost of the vegetable stall

Just retail selling vegetables without delivery model: a minivan 50,000 yuan, stall rent 1200 yuan, deposit 8000 yuan, wholesale vegetables money is expected to 3000 yuan, the total is 62,200 yuan.

Vegetable stall

Retail + delivery model: My aunt pulls a lot of orders from canteens and restaurants and delivers the vegetables ordered by customers to the designated location on time every day. In this case, it would cost an extra RMB5,000 to buy a tricycle and a conservative estimate of RMB1,000 more per day to get the food money. In general, the food money for canteens and restaurants is monthly, so at least 30,000 to 50,000 yuan more should be prepared for advances, and the total cost is estimated to be about 110,000 yuan.

Only guard the stall retail words capital 62,000 yuan or so.

Retail + delivery model capital is about 110,000. The difference in cost between these two models is tens of thousands of yuan, and the difference in profit is also a big one.

I didn't expect one day, but my sister-in-law called and said she wanted to transfer the vegetable stall and asked if I was interested. After all, it was a lucrative business and if we were willing to do it, they were happy to give the stall to us as a priority.

After taking time out to sit at the stall, my aunt gave us the tips and pros and cons of selling vegetables before we finally understood that there is a lot to learn from a seemingly simple business. Later, my husband and I dismissed the idea of quitting our jobs to sell vegetables because my husband and I were both self-aware that we couldn't take this kind of hardship and tiredness, plus we hadn't gotten our driving licenses at that time!

Why did my sister-in-law transfer her vegetable stall, where she could make money?

(1): It was too tiring, and I had to leave early and return late.

Every morning from 3 to 4 o'clock, she had to go to the wholesale market, and after pulling the vegetables back, she could not rest for a moment, she had to sort and arrange the vegetables. From the time I wake up in the morning until 10 am, there is no time to rest. You are constantly bending over to wash and select vegetables, take bags of vegetables, weigh and collect money, and your clothes are dirty and sometimes wet. You have to be quick on your feet, if you are a little slow, the customers will run off to another stall. After all, the stalls are connected one to the other. On a normal day even breakfast is a wolf's breakfast in a hurry, or else you can just have lunch.

(2): Too busy, all year round.

As long as the market is open, there is no rest for the stall, so selling vegetables is a year-round job. Especially when it comes to holidays, it's so busy that sometimes I have to call in relatives to help. Just like me, sometimes I want to take advantage of the holidays to rest, even if I have to sleep in. Sometimes my sister-in-law would call me and ask me to help out, but I thought it would be a shame if I didn't, so I thought I would help out as much as I could between brothers and sisters.

Since selling vegetables, my sister-in-law has been unable to spend time with her children and has had to take her 70-year-old grandmother out to watch them. Because they wake up in the middle of the night every day before the children are awake, they cannot leave them alone in the house either. The time when the children have to be picked up and dropped off at school is in the morning and afternoon, which is also a very busy time for the vegetable stalls.

She and her aunt say that they do not have time to spend with their children because they sell vegetables all year round and that they have been squatting on the floor for years to choose vegetables or bending over to take and wash them.

Because of the dirty, noisy, and humid environment of working in the market, my sister's legs and feet began to ache and she did not sleep well.

Another important reason was that the canteens and restaurants that my aunt delivered to were originally agreed to be settled every month. Three of the canteens and one of the hotels had always been paid monthly on time. The aunt thought, "We have been delivering to our customers for 3 years, so it is okay to settle the bill once every 3 months. The result is that the more you owe, the more you go out of business, and so far there is still more than 100,000 yuan of vegetable money that you haven't gotten back.

Little aunt was angry, directly to the vegetable stall transfer, and later to do wholesale tea business.

I have said so much, is to tell you, selling vegetables can earn money, but also very hard. And how much you earn depends on the way each person operates, and also on how hard you work and how long you can last.

Little Auntie's vegetable stall is a very good business inside the whole vegetable market. She can make so much money because she has done the following:

Good location, close to the entrance. The rent for such a stall is a few hundred dollars more, but it is worth it. It's worth it because it's in a prominent location and there's a lot of foot traffic!

The food is fresh and sells well. In the summer, the vegetables tend to get stale, so you need to spray them with water from time to time to keep them hydrated. The vegetables that are not fresh should be thrown away, and those that are still edible but dry should be disposed of at a reduced price, or even given away for free.

The vegetables must be weighed in full, not short. Do not take advantage of customers, buy more, but also send a few onions, and send half garlic or ginger, customer satisfaction, and repeat customers will also be more.

Good attitude, quick hands, and diligent greeting. Some elderly people buy less and ask for more, the stallholder should not panic and use a smile to resolve the conflict. Put your hands and feet up and don't keep the customers waiting. When you see customers coming, greet them. As long as you greet with a smile on your face, guests will want to come to your stall.

Friends and investors need to be careful, and not envy others to make more money. Because behind the money more, but also must have paid a few times more than ordinary people's efforts and hardships.

In every industry, we must consider their suitability to do, do not blindly follow the wind Oh!

Of course, if you choose the right industry for yourself, then do not hesitate to do it boldly! As long as you work hard, are diligent, not afraid of hardship and tiredness, you will be satisfied with the harvest and can earn money. Go for it!
