We have all seen those wild, wacky, or even downright odd recipes on Facebook or Youtube, and I am sure that most of us have wondered whether or not those recipes are actually good. That's what I am here to do, I will be testing these recipes and documenting the results. That way you can know if the recipe is worth trying.

Mountain Dew has been a North Carolina staple since 1940 so when I saw the recipe for Mountain Dew ice cream I knew that it was worth a shot. Not to mention it was simple to do and required very few ingredients.

Ingredients:

- Two Cups of Heavy Cream

-14 Ounce Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

-One Cup of Mountain Dew

-Green Food Coloring (Optional)

Steps:

1. Put a medium or large bowl in the freezer for a minimum of one hour, the longer the better.

(This is about what your bowl should look like)

2. Whip the heavy cream on high until stiff peaks form, try not to over whip the cream like I did as you will see in the next image.

3. Fold in the sweetened condensed milk with a spatula, being careful not to over mix.

I found this picture beautiful and decided to add it in.

4. Pour in eight ounces of Mountain Dew and fold it in like the sweetened condensed milk.

5.Once all of the ingredients are mixed in, place a piece of cling wrap gently on top of your mixture and place it in the freezer overnight. If ytou choose to add the green food coloring now is when you would fold it in.

Results:

Taste: The ice cream tastes good and did have a little bit of a Mountain Dew flavor but it was very faint. Any Mountain Dew lover would definitely be disappointed by the lack of that classic citrus soda flavor. Overall I cannot complain about the taste of this ice cream.

Difficulty: This recipe was very easy and had relatively few steps. The only difficulties regarding this recipe would be the possibility of over-mixing the ingredients or in my case over-whipping the heavy cream.

Modifications: To make this recipe better I would suggest doubling the Mountain Dew for this recipe. I would also suggest using an actual ice cream maker instead of the bowl and cling wrap method that way the ice cream is extra creamy

Overall: This recipe for Mountain Dew ice cream was still good and it definitely tasted like ice cream. Anyone who is curious about this recipe should try it for themselves.
