5 Essential Game Day Snacks, and 5 I'd never consider buying

Though I never grew an intense interest in football (I was more into bowling XD), game day was a popular one. My father's parents had 3 boys-one rooting for the Cowboys, one for the Redskins, my father loyal to our own NY Jets. What I always found exciting was picking out the food for such an occasion! So, here's some of my must-haves and some of my no-goes for game day.

1) Doritos

As a kid, it seemed I was the only one in the WORLD, who hated Doritos! Even telling people, they would look at me like I was crazy, but that is the reality. I cannot stand these chips! Countless flavors and I have never found even one I can get behind. Though they were always around during game day, because everyone else in the house just had to have them, I would never partake. I don't know what it is, but they've just never sat right with me.

2) Guacamole

I know, a lot of chip related ones! Guacamole has just never sat right with me. I've only tried it a couple of times (you know, see if the taste buds change or whatever), and nope! Still tastes weird!

3) Crab Dip

More and more food dips! No, crab in a dip form just seems to weird me out. I mean, I've had crab legs and they weren't necessarily terrible, but for some reason putting crab in a dip is the equivalent of that Mayo and Ketchup thing Heinz did. In my opinion, they just don't go together.

4) Bratwurst

I have no idea what it is, but Bratwurst has ALWAYS, grossed me out. I couldn't image bringing that to any kind of party, let alone willingly eating it. All I got to say on that one!

5) Jalapeño Poppers

I don't understand how anybody can handle heat like that, and the taste of any kind of pepper just grosses me out anyway. It's like they mixed my least favorite things, heat and peppers! Not all peppers are hot, of course, but Jalapeños?? I might as well be a fire-breathing dragon!

Now, of course, not all snacks are terrible! So, here's 5 snacks I would always consider chowing down on during a game day party!

1) Chili

Chili is a god-level food any time of the day, month, year, whatever! Whether you're having just a whole bowl, or maybe even you like to dip Tostitos in it, I can say without question that Chili is an absolute must-have! I mean, you can do so much with it too, like buy Tostitos scoops, and fill it with chili and cheese!

2) Mac and Cheese

Now, it depends on what kind of Mac and Cheese you get, because of course not all Mac is created equal. For example, if you buy it and make it, are we talking Kraft or Velveeta?? If you order some from a restaurant, are we talking Panera (bc Panera has AMAZING Mac and Cheese!) Either way, Mac and Cheese is almost ALWAYS a simple and pleasing snack!

3) Pretzels

In my opinion, they're better than chips. There is so many kinds of chips, it leaves so many choices, but with Pretzels they're simple and delicious! I have a habit of licking the salt off of mine before I crunch, but that's just me! Either way, pretzels are a necessity!

4) Wings!

I said that with an exclamation mark bc I. LOVE. WINGS...so long as they're like no hotter than mild, at least! Like I said with Jalapeño Poppers, heat and I don't really mix, but Mild Hot wings in some ranch/bleu cheese and milk? *Chef's Kiss*, perfection!

5) Pizza

Last but certainly not least, PIZZA! A fan favorite, easy to get for just about everyone, you can get multiple for those family members who don't believe in the greatness of pineapple on pizza! I like to get mine either sausage and mushroom or pineapple and ham (usually half-and-half!), but there's other things I can do on pizza, like Chicken, Bacon and Ranch! Regardless of your choice in toppings, pizza is a classic and certainly a favorite of mine!

And that's it! My favorite and least favorite Game Day snacks!
