4 covers of tofu (400 g)

2 tomatoes

2 cloves of garlic or purple onions

1 teaspoon seasoning powder

1 teaspoon sugar

½ teaspoon seasoning

2 tablespoons ketchup (optional)

80 ml of clean water

1 tablespoon tapioca starch (optional)

2 green onion stalks

½ bunch of coriander

Step 1: Prepare ingredients

Wash the tofu and let it drain.

Cut tofu into 1.5-2 cm square or rectangular cubes.

Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems and cut them into wedges.

Mince garlic or slice purple onions. Clean the coriander and green onions and wash them with water several times. Drain the water and then chop finely.

Step 2: Fry tofu

Prepare a clean pan and heat cooking oil.

Fry all sides of the tofu until golden brown.

Step 3: Bean sauce with tomatoes

Saute the garlic/red onion until fragrant, then add the tomatoes and stir-fry together.

Add spices and cook with sauteed tomatoes for about 5 minutes.

Add the beans and cook for about 5 more minutes to absorb. Season to taste.

Add green onions and cook for about 1-2 minutes. Turn off the stove and enjoy.

Step 1: Prepare ingredients

As I introduced above, tofu with tomato sauce only has two main ingredients: tofu and tomatoes. Choosing to buy fresh tofu and ripe red tomatoes is a dish that is guaranteed to be 7/10 delicious.

Tofu is made from pureed soybeans. Through processing by skilled workers, tofu is packed into blocks and soaked in water to preserve. When choosing to buy tofu, you need to do a preliminary check in the following ways:

Picking up a piece of tofu, it feels soft and creamy white.

Has the aroma of soybeans, no sour smell.

Do not choose to buy pieces of tofu that are too hard and yellow because they are likely to mix with gypsum and oxidize, making them yellow and harder.

For tomatoes 🍅, choose large, round fruits that are evenly distributed. The skin of the tomato is orange or red, the skin is plump and not bruised, crushed, or watery.

When you buy tofu, wash it and let it drain. To dry the beans quickly without having to wait long, you can blot the sides of the bean cover with tissue paper! Then you cut the tofu into smaller, bite-sized cubes. If you cut the beans about 1.5-2 cm, they will fry them until golden brown on all sides, and when you stir the tomatoes, you won't have to worry about the beans breaking.

For tomatoes, wash them, remove the stems and cut them into wedges. If you want the tomato sauce to boil quickly and become soft and cooked quickly, you can cut it into smaller cubes.

Depending on the family's preference, add garlic or fried purple onions to the tofu dish with tomato sauce. Please prepare according to your family's preferences.

Step 2: Fry tofu

To fry delicious, golden tofu, wait for the cooking oil to heat up and make sure the tofu is completely dry!

You can check how hot the cooking oil is by dipping the tip of your chopsticks into the pan. If the tip of the chopsticks has bubbling air bubbles, the oil is ready to fry the beans.

You put each piece of chopped tofu into the oil pan. You need to pay attention to creating space between the tofu pieces because when fried, the tofu will expand slightly.
