Even if you aren't vegan yet, I think that when you learn that there are so many great options, you may be open to including some, or even all of these options on game day. Chances are that these items will become so popular among you, your friends and your family, that one day these "go-to" quick plant based meals may become your preference. Given everyone's need to build up immunity these days, one tip I do recommend is to add fresh ginger root to everything from wraps to salads and plant based stir fry. Small amounts of fresh ginger root and turmeric provide amazing health benefits. The only word of caution I would advise with fresh ginger root is to use it in moderation, as it has many benefits in small amounts, and to also make sure that if you take any medicine that it does not conflict with that. It has potent anti-inflammatory benefits all on its own!

Knowing about the many plant based options is second nature to me, after going on my ninth year of being vegan. First and foremost, there are many great reasons to implement plant based options on game day - one, compassion for the animals, two - consuming healthy vegan foods on a consistent basis can help you feel better and become healthier, and three - even if you aren't choosing all plant based foods yet for yourself, you may find out that you like the options that I am sharing here. Once you make a few of the amazing plant based options, you may be pretty happy with what you have created. It is very easy to find chips, as well as guacamole or salsa that is vegan. Just check the ingredients to be sure. Take one additional step to purchase corn tortillas, instead of opting for flour tortillas which often contain lard. Then, prepare some toppings such as fresh avocado, mixed greens, fresh cilantro, tomatoes, and some great salsa; most any great quality salsa will do. Buy some avocado oil or good quality olive oil, and warm the corn tortillas. Next, add red beans and rice, or refried beans if you wish, and you will have an amazing meal within literal moments. Beyond Meat has great plant based products, such as "beyond beef crumbles" which are made largely out of pea protein. This can be easily added as a topping.

The benefits - you are cutting out cholesterol, eating delicious plant based food, and saving animals in the process; all while you hopefully, watch your team take home a win. You are definitely winning either way when you are choosing amazing plant based options, regardless of how well your team does. Just my two cents!

Vegan wraps are very easy to do. Add any veggies that you would like to add to your wrap; such as kale, arugula, beets, spinach, peppers, even apricots. When you add red pepper jam or balsamic reduction, game days friends and family will think that you had their veggie wraps brought in from a catering company. Choose the veggies that you love. You get to create what you want to create in terms of choosing the veggie toppings. The red pepper jam and the balsamic reduction, these two additions make the wrap ten times better in my opinion.

Plant based pizza is amazing, and there are many benefits to preparing this yourself. One you KNOW that the veggies are fresh. Buy fresh basil, add a tiny bit of the fresh ginger root that I mentioned for some extra spice and health benefits, fresh green peppers, tomatoes, whatever pizza sauce that you choose - check out the ingredients, most pizza sauce can definitely be purchased without any animal products, i.e. no cheese/dairy. Have you ever ordered a pizza and found that they really skimped on the veggies for which you paid $2.50 a topping or more? This is an added perk - when you make your own you don't have to skimp. Vegan cheese has come a long way since the beginning. I recommend Field Roast's Chao Vegan Cheese Shreds or Daiya as another option. Gardein has won awards for some of their plant based meats, if you choose to add a plant based meat.

Vegan Thai food is yet another option which is very easy to make. You can buy firm teriyaki tofu. Then, cook the tofu with any stir fry veggie that you like, such as grilled asparagus for example. Next, add steamed jasmine rice - total prep time on this possibly 15 minutes tops! When you add a bit of fresh ginger root to the stir fry, it makes it spicy. Turmeric adds flavor and health benefits too, and it is great in a stir fry; remember - you don't need much, a little goes a long way.

The point is that there are countless plant based options to make on game day. This is just a start. The great thing about prepping plant based foods is that there are so many amazing options, and you can save on time.

Use your creativity and add the veggie options that you choose to add. I hope that this has provided you with some ideas; consisting of healthy, compassionate, amazing plant based options for game day and truly every day.
