A firing pin struck the primer. The primer ignited the charge. Gas drove the bullet through the barrel at a specific velocity. The bullet traveled a measurable distance, shattered a pane of glass at a calculable angle, and entered the body at a specific point.

On July 13, 2026, President Donald Trump signed presidential proclamations reducing the boundaries of two of Utah's most well-known national monuments: Bears Ears National Monument and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument .
