Best Prison Movies of All Time
They may not be at the top of everybody's list, and they certainly don't have any cult following of any kind, but prison films are often greatly overshadowed. Some of the best interpersonal confrontations are met in such a situation as being sent to prison, look at Denzel Washington's Hurricane. Despite it being more of a boxing movie, Rubin Carter's long stint in jail taught of a mix between finding hope in the darkest of times, while also learning when to use that hope wisely.

Who doesn't like a good whodunit? Somebody has been murdered, the stakes couldn't be any higher, and perhaps that's why murder mystery movies have been fascinating audiences since the inception of film making.
Creepiest Serial Killer Movies to Watch Right Now
Serial killer films are among the best movies in the horror genre, primarily because they're possible, unlike paranormal and super natural movies. In fact, a lot of serial killer films are based on true stories, intriguing, right? Serial killers are real and they are out there in the world to this day, believe it or not. Even walking down a busy street, it's possible to walk right by a mass murderer and you wouldn't even know it.

It's becoming increasingly difficult for mystery fans to find their beloved detective films. Even if we may love the art of investigation, there are so few modern detective and noir films that provide any worthiness to the genre that it's pretty much impossible finding quality contemporary noir. Whether it's serial killers, a masked organization, or the familiar one man job, murder mysteries are oftentimes packed with a multitude of real life concepts and tell stories of wild imagination. Some of the most legendary titles are inherently mysteries at their core and identify with detective tropes on some levels, but most of them could not be considered the best detective movies of all time.
Best Movies Based on Unsolved Mysteries
Personally, I'm a big fan of mysteries. Whenever I'm reading a novel or watching a film that revolves around a mysterious plot, I won't walk away until I find out the ending. Most people can relate to me — that itching feeling to know who the murderer is or the culprit behind the crime. And you definitely have ideas floating in your head of who you think is behind it all. Then, once you reach the ending and discover the criminal, it's the complete opposite of what you had in mind.

You don't have to watch much prime-time television to come to the realization that America is obsessed with crime — in all its manifestations. So, it should come as no surprise that true crime documentaries have become a market unto themselves after the massive successes of The Jinx on HBO and Making a Murderer on Netflix. We've all seen them, or at least are familiar with them. Writing about them seems mute at this point — there are hundreds of articles on them.
