Bad habits
A Sort Of Problem. Top Story - November 2022.
Introduction I recently wrote a piece setting myself a task to create a fiction that was entirely positive. I wasn’t sure I could do it, but I did, and the story I am talking about is at the end of this one. So what is my problem?

Meth Memoirs: Salt and Water
I have spent hours of my life procuring and sucking on packets of salt. When I did meth, I was always convinced that something besides the meth itself was compromising my health. I would spend hours on Wikipedia reading the list of symptoms for various ailments. I made sure to drink lots of water. Yet, my head still ached, and I still possessed an insatiable thirst. That is when I learned about hyperthermia. I realized that I had been incessantly drinking water without eating any food, without taking in any sodium.

45 Years of Smoking Was Long Enough
When I was around 12 years old, I started sneaking my father's cigarettes. I was just a curious kid, doing what kids do, never once thinking about where that first cigarette might lead me. At the time, I had absolutely no idea I would still be smoking nearly 45 years later. It never crossed my mind. Like most kids, I wasn't thinking about addiction, health problems, or the possibility that a habit I picked up out of curiosity would stay with me for almost half a century.

The Imposter Syndrome Is Strong In This One
Introduction I write these pieces every so often when I feel that my work is rubbish and not worth sharing. One of the reasons I write them is for others who may feel the same, although when you feel like this you feel that you are the only one, despite assurances from peers and friends. So I will leap on without further ado and try to keep positive.

The World in a State of Rising Tension
The World in a State of Rising Tension In today’s world, the sense of global security feels more fragile than it has been for many years. Ongoing wars, regional conflicts, and political tensions are creating an atmosphere where many people believe the world is moving into a “dangerous mode.” One of the most discussed and sensitive conflicts contributing to this situation is the Israel–Palestine conflict, which continues to affect not only the Middle East but also global politics, economics, and public opinion.
