This essay aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of sexual harassment and its various impacts, as well as explore ways to prevent and mitigate this problem.

Quid pro quo harassment is when an employee is offered specific employment benefits or advantages in exchange for sexual favors. Hostile work environment harassment occurs when an individual is subjected to unwelcome and inappropriate conduct that creates a visibly intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Cyber-sexual harassment has also emerged with the rise of social media and digital communication, including behaviors such as non-consensual sharing of intimate photos or videos and cyberstalking.
Sexual harassment can have significant psychological, physical, legal, and career consequences. Victims may experience anxiety, depression, and PTSD; they may also face physical health problems such as loss of sleep, appetite, and energy. In the workplace, victims may receive lower salaries, joblessness, and decreased job satisfaction. Legal consequences may include loss of credibility, morale, and team productivity. Sexual harassment allegations can also lead to reputational damage, which can impact career progression and further opportunities.
Emotional Effects: Sexual harassment can have severe emotional consequences for victims.
