About this challenge
Many of us grew up reading fantasy stories; some of us have even written our own fantasy fiction. This is because fantasy is a genre where you can leave your worries about the real world behind and escape to a different reality. As we grow older and itch for a little more magic in our lives, we tend to gravitate back towards these worlds. And of course, with every fantasy land comes a subculture composed of die-hard fans...
Enter the Fan(dom) Favorite Challenge and tell us what is the best fantasy world out there. Is it Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, or something else? Tell us why you believe this story and its legacy is supreme. Is it because the world is more defined and believable? Are the characters more real and relatable? We want to be unequivocally convinced, so argue and defend your home turf, and may the odds be ever in your favor! 🪄
How to enter
For your story to be eligible, it must be between 600 and 5,000 words and adhere to our Community Guidelines. Stories published on Vocal and entered into the contest up until September 14, 2021, at 11:59 PM EST will be entered for consideration. Official Rules for the Challenge can be found here.

To be eligible to win the grand prize, second place, or third place prizes, you must be over the age of 13 and residing in a country where Stripe is available at the time of entry. A complete list of countries where Stripe is available can be found here—winners will need to have a Stripe account created and connected in order to receive the prizes. For this reason, entrants located outside of any of these countries will not be eligible to win.

Last Call Challenge Winners
