My Top 20 Songs in 2020
1.Shardz - Army Rising You know those songs you play to stir yourself up when training in the gym? For me, when I’m about to go evangelising with friends, this is one of those songs. By default this is also for me a benchmark in the faith space of the grime genre.

To the Beat: December 2020
Cheers to a new edition of To the Beat and Happy New Year! As we wrap up the month of December on Beat, we're saying goodbye to 2020 and toasting with another playlist, creatively curated based on the stories you shared. We laughed about really bad song lyrics, related over your "year in music" stories, and crowned Charli XCX as the "QuaranQueen." This month's playlist is sure to bring back memories from the months that felt like years as you get ready to ring in 2021.

This year has been one for the history books for me, as well as most people throughout the world. Being reminded about a global pandemic on every television network, social media platform, and in every store front, can definitely take a toll on a person. My anxiety has dramatically increased in the last year, and am always working on new ways to cope with it. I have recently started meditating, working out, eating healthier, and going to sleep earlier. These habits have positively impacted how I live my life during a pandemic.

The Soundtrack to my Quarter Life Crisis
My earliest memories include music. My dad bouncing me on his lap, lulling me to sleep with "A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke" or songs he'd written himself that were only ever heard by a few close friends and me. Or mom playing 90s alternative rock from an old radio by the pool under the blazing Oklahoma sun.

In the humblest way possible I can honestly say that this year was a blessing for me. I know, I know... Crazy right? This year was most definitely a year from the fiery pits of hell itself. I am not denying that. But for me it was a blessing because I am still here. I'm here, healthy, writing on Vocal about my year and my Top 20 Songs of 2020 that helped me get through it all. I think the biggest blessing of my life is that my family is safe and healthy. I cannot express how much that means to me. There was so much sickness and death this year. Someone with a big heart like me could feel Death's energy seeping through the very air we breathe. The pain my heart holds for this year's tragedies, racism, and deaths is daunting. However, my heart continues to go out to everyone who has suffered in anyway...
Songs To Heal A Homesick Heart
“I’m an alien, I’m a legal alien…” - Sting I’m a legal alien, too. I’m a Finn in London. Though London is the place I have called home for over 25 years, my heart belongs to Finland.

20 Glee Songs That Accurately Describe 2020
People have always had mixed feelings about Glee and the music from the show, but for me, Glee was one of the simple pleasures that got me through 2020. Working and doing school from home gave me a lot more free time and Glee and its music was there to motivate me, distract me, and give me something to smile about when almost nothing else did.

This year has really been something, but it is practically behind us at this point. We've almost arrived in the year 2021.

Music is full of clichés and even talking about it is a cliché in itself. But you know what makes a cliché? Something that is so true that you can't deny it even if it makes you want to stub your own toe just to alleviate that awful cringing feeling.
A Year In Music

I am done flogging how the year 2020 came and threw us off balance. I'll rather focus on one of the awesome things that made it worthwhile; music! Music provided an escape from the harsh realities around us. Like many of us, I spent more time at home than anywhere else. This had its fallouts including getting creative. In the spirit of creativity, I forged a new playlist.
