Taylor Swift Bounced Back Harder Then Your Ex
Taylor Swift, one of the most successful, talented, and powerhouse superstars in the world. Someone who is no longer afraid to be herself, someone who isn’t afraid to put herself out there anymore, someone who finally, for the first time in three years, showed up to an award show last night looking so freakin’ gorgeous I wanted to cry.
Niall Horan Round 2
Niall Horan's "On My Own" plays as I sit here typing this, still thinking about the live performance I saw by him last night. On August 17, 2018 Niall Horan played to a crowd of 9,000 screaming fans in Chula Vista, California. I don't think I have ever witnessed someone have as much fun on stage as that lovely lad from Ireland. Not only did he sing, but he joked, laughed, danced, played the guitar and piano, and smiled from ear to ear the entire time. Everyone in the amphitheater—including the people on the stage—were having the time of their lives that night. It was refreshing to see and hear all the love that was passed onto him as he performed. Niall Horan has still got it and I don't think it will be going away any time soon.

'Red' by Taylor Swift: An Album I’ve Grown to Truly Understand with Age
I love every album Taylor Swift has released. In my eyes she has no “worst” album. However, if I’m being completely honest, when Taylor’s fourth album, Red, was released, I struggled to connect with it. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved it. I was at Target on release day, money in hand and ready to be spent. I listened to the album over and over again when I got home. But something was different about this album than Taylor’s previous three. It wasn’t worse, it wasn’t a letdown, it wasn’t disappointing…it was just different. I couldn’t find a personal connection with most of the songs the way I had with the songs on Taylor Swift, Fearless, and Speak Now. But why?

How BROCKHAMPTON Moved Past the Loss of Ameer Vann
Earlier this year, allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct were brought up against Ameer Vann, an original member of BROCKHAMPTON. After more details came to light, the group collectively decided to kick Vann out. This was a forceful decision, one that postponed an album, and cancelled a US tour shows for over a month. The boyband had been growing in popularity and had a lot of momentum, and this looked like it would halt it. But here we are, in August, and they’re doing better than ever.

The 'List: Aretha Franklin (1942–2018)
Hello, one and all. As I sadly remind myself, our gods and idols are mere mortals in the end. We've lost our fair share of many, but, just today (as this fan had written this spur-of-the-moment eulogy when the announcement was official), my heart sank like a stone when one of our musical goddesses finally joined the invisible heavenly choir. She truly earned the title of the Queen of Soul.
Bands Definitely Worth Checking Out
If you are out running around at the store looking for some music to check out then I have a few bands for you to look into. These bands are worth the time to listen to. I have personally heard them all and liked what I have heard. First up on the list is a band called Widetrack. These guys have some of their music on YouTube, where you can get a little taste of the music that they play. Some of the music runs with a very calming sound while other songs are on the rock side. The vocals in this group are perfect, with a catch to grasp the audience. When you are listening to the music check lyrics, too.
Decoding Childish Gambino's 'This Is America'
At Vanity Fair, Austin Collins’ review of Childish Gambino’s “This is America” analyzes the artistry and reveals the deeper meaning behind the quick flashes of explicitly consequential imagery. The multi-hyphenated entertainer Donald Glover dropped a bombshell video sparking a flurry of conversation around the topics of American life, gun control, racism, and most importantly, negating the existence of these issues for voguish diversions. America at large would rather be pacified rather than closely examine what we are placating ourselves from.
