Jacob could barely keep his eyes open, finally drifting off to sleep when he heard a single tap on his bedroom window. It was 3:33 in the morning and he had to convince himself that he was only dreaming. Who in the hell could possibly be at his window at this ungodly hour.

Dancing upon my peripheral vision Fear is instilled like a surgeon's incision . Darkness . Reflected a sign of despair
Concrete and steel proclaimed as a park Amusement for all ages From light until dark . A man and his dream Now frozen in time
The last path I venture Must lead me to him The lure of temptation To circumvent sin . A life has been gifted With decisions to ponder
Grunts and groans bellowed Of the voice I hold so dear A darkened tunnel beckons Contractions fuel my fear . A persistent stranger probes
The sunset fades and doom descends Upon these concrete pillars bend The light of which the night transcends The thoughts of which my mind suspends
