After the Storm
Many areas in the world have been having severe weather lately. There have been snow storms, blizzards, rain storms and flooding that brought a lot of wide spread destruction across the United States. Most people hunkered down and waited for the storm to pass. It is a natural instinct to tell yourself, "at some point the storm will be over." Then what? What happens after the storm has stopped? There is always an assessment period that follows a storm. Perhaps there's been flood damage, trees down, power outages, accidents or worse. It becomes time to survey the damage, estimate the cost and make a plan to repair what has been damaged. Immediately people spring into action, work together to find solutions and rectify the issues. Time to repair comes immediately after the disaster.

Holiday Balance
Everyone feels differently during the holidays. For some the holidays are sad, lonely and depressing. You might feel hopeless or alone and not know how to navigate those feelings. First of all, you are not alone. Not really. A lot of people spend the holidays by themselves and that’s okay. You just need to find ways to make yourself feel better. Don’t be hesitant to reach out to family and friends. If you don’t have family and friends who live near you, look for support groups or other fun groups you can join. You can also look into volunteering at places that need help serving food or handing blankets and toys out to the less fortunate. You might find that giving to others is more fulfilling than receiving material things for yourself.

Holiday Health Tips
The holidays are upon us already. Many people are excited and many are not. Just yesterday I witnessed two women yelling at a sales clerk. I thought to myself, "Either it's that time of the month or they really need to learn to be calm and kind to others." The holiday season can be very draining and emotionally tough on many people, that's why it is important to find ways to destress, relax and spread calmness and kindness to yourself and others.

S.W.A.T SEASON 6 "THAI HARD"
S.W.A.T Season 6 started off strong with episode 1 that was filmed in Thailand. "Thai Hard" had S.W.A.T team leader, Hondo (Shemar Moore) and some of his team, Deacon (Jay Harrington), Tan (David Lim) in Bangkok to train along side of Thailand's own premiere S.W.A.T team. After training, Hondo takes a side trip to see a former military buddy, Joe (Sean McGuire). Hondo of course finds himself in trouble, leaving him and Joe making their way through the jungle trying to escape the bad guys.

Lily Love
Mom was always vivacious and full of life. She loved to dance, play cards and socialize with friends. When she danced, her eyes lit up and there was a smile so big you couldn’t help but smile back. She loved to watch sports and was known to bet on a game or two. She was always alive, until she wasn’t. Mom passed away in 2010, it was then that my life changed in more than one way.

Help Your Kids Reset, Recharge and Be ReadyTop Story - August 2022
Have you ever experienced driving your car from point A to point B and not remembering driving there? You reached your destination safely but basically did it on autopilot. That happens a lot. Your brain is trained to drive a certain way in a certain direction and get you there successfully. That’s because you have driven that route so many times, your brain is accustomed to the plan. The same goes for many other things in life. If you receive proper training on something, learn it and successfully master it, it comes to you automatically. Children are the same way; they need some training.

Bullet Train Review
I have always been a Brad Pitt admirer. I’ll go watch everything he is in just because he’s in it. That’s why I stay away from reviews until I can go see the film and review it myself. I had literally been counting the days until “Bullet Train” came out. I was very excited to see it. Unfortunately, other than Brad’s humor and the movie soundtrack, the film lacked a strong story line. Writers Zak Olkewicz and Kotaro Isaka made a good attempt at the story but it was a bit cheesy. There was a lot of action, quite bloody so if you have a weak stomach you may not like this film. I found myself closing my eyes a few times because there was just so much blood. This film had a “Murder On The Orient Express” feel with a dash of a cartoonish background. Kudos to the special effects team, the effects were really good.

Set Your Kids Up for Success
Children start the learning process at a very young age. At just a few months old they learn what to do to get their needs met. Generally, newborn babies learn that if they cry when they are hungry, tired or have a dirty diaper an adult will come and help them. They are already learning and experiencing behaviors that help them get their needs met. This is when you can start teaching them how to get what they want without crying all of the time. Be proactive by putting your child on a feeding and sleep schedule. Keep track of the time they sleep and the times they need to feed. Make yourself a chart or download and app that keeps track of these things. By being proactive you are cutting down the probability of your child always crying to get what they want and need. Just by incorporating consistency in a newborn's daily routine, you are already setting them up for success.

Teach Your Kids about Climate Change and Sustainability
Children learn by example, and as parents you are their example. Todays’ children will be tomorrows’ leaders in the battle against climate change. It’s so important that our youth understand the concept of sustainable living from a young age. We have the power to teach them right. We can be their role models on how to make a difference when it comes to sustainability and climate change.

Elvis the Movie
I left the movie theater a few nights ago after seeing the Elvis film with both sadness due to the tragedy in the film and joy from the uplifting effect it had on me. A few days later, I am still singing Elvis songs and replaying the film in my head. This was the best film I had seen in a long time. Baz Luhrmann did an excellent job directing this film. Also, casting Austin Butler as Elvis was a genius choice. Austin embodied Elvis so well that you forget you’re watching Austin and think you are actually watching Elvis. Austin Butler even sounds like Elvis Presley. From the tone of his voice, to his clothes, to his amazing dance moves, Austin Butler deserves to win awards for this performance. Austin will have you believing he is Elvis. This no doubt will be a huge turning point in Austin Butler’s acting career. The young man proved he has amazing talent and focus.
