The Enchanted Pond
My mother "Silvia D'Barbarac" was an award-winning figure skater in her youth. I never had the chance to know her personally because she died shortly after I was born. I have always kept a photograph of her sitting beside my bed. I like the thought of having her watch over me as I sleep at night. Sometimes when I'm having trouble falling asleep I'll lay in bed and talk to her. At some point during our nightly conversations, I fall peacefully to sleep. I can remember each and every one of them as if she had been sitting right beside me chatting. I find pleasure in believing that it's all real and somehow my mother truly does come to visit me in her afterlife.

Amazing Things That Are Turning 100 Years Old In 2021. Top Story - August 2021.
One hundred years is a very long time. When it is broken down, it is approximately 36,500 days (depending on leap years, of course), or 1,200 months, or 10 decades, or one century. To last for such a long period is a remarkable achievement that takes stamina, wit, flexibility, and resilience.

SELENA
It was a damp, muggy night in July when I saw her standing all alone on that dark street corner. She stood eerily still as the traffic light ahead flashed from red to green. Her long flaxen hair flowed perfectly and flawlessly down her back. I was instantly attracted by the glittering beads of moisture gathering on her porcelain face. There was something extremely haunting and yet uncommonly seductive about her as the green light illuminated her pale, pastel skin.

"What could I have done differently?"
It was 2:30 am, the storm had finally arrived as the rain fiercely battered the windshield. All around I could see lightning streaks reaching from the sky to the ground. Loud crashes of thunder sent waves of anxiety through my veins. I waited at the red light as patiently as I possibly could, considering how threatening that the storm had suddenly become.

The Happening
It was a perfect and lovely Summer evening in August. The sky above was brilliant shades of bright pink and orange as the sun settled down behind the mountains for the night. Georgia was outside picking fresh blueberries, taking advantage of the last moments of light. She looked across the field where her son Seth was playing with the family's pet golden retriever. A smile spread across her face as she breathed in the fresh, pure country air. Life wasn't perfect but it was good. They had a roof over their head and plenty of food in their tummies. The little family of three was rich in love and affection and for that she and grateful.

Living With Lupus
Like most of you, I had heard about Lupus on the television and on the internet. I had never really thought about it much and I most definitely never thought that someday I'd be told that I have it. I am also a diabetic so when strange and unusual things began to happen to me, it was easy to assume that my sugar levels were out of control as they most often are.

The Enchanted Saddle
My son Corey was born into the rodeo, it ran through his veins like wild, untamed water. It is both electrifying and exhilarating to hear the crowd scream your name. It can also be dreadful and fearsome waiting for those gates to swing open. Bull riding is so much more than a sport, it's a passion and devotion. When all of these emotions come together the adrenaline fills your veins like gasoline. I know firsthand just how addictive, and habit-forming that this way of life can be. Corey's father was also a bulldogger. American bull riding has been called "the most dangerous eight seconds in sports." My husband died at a hospital, six days after he was critically injured while competing in the National Finals Rodeo. Only three days before his son was born.

The Bull In The China Shop
It was the summer of 1993, I will never forget that warm August day. I awakened early that morning, the smell of fresh brewing coffee filled the entire house. As I made my way into the kitchen I found my mother preparing a large, delicious breakfast. She had come to stay with me while I recovered from my recent surgery. She looked so beautiful standing in front of the stove with the bright morning sun shining through her silvery hair. A hundred childhood memories flashed through my mind as I stood there quietly and listened to her hum as she flipped the pancakes.

Making Money On Vocal
I have seen lots of people questioning the validity of Vocal. I watched a video on Youtube where a man was trashing the platform, claiming that in five years he had only acquired a little more than thirty cents. This seems to be a real issue that people are seeking an honest answer to. I wanted to share my experience with you about Vocal and hopefully give you a little bit of hope.

The Undiscovered Ocean
Admittedly, I have always had a fear of the unknown. Although I love open water I can't help but wonder just exactly what might be hiding beneath. We all know that there are parts of the ocean that has yet to be discovered. "What might be hiding down there?" Giant, atrocious monsters that humanity has yet to detect? Shipwrecks from long ago, trapped souls never to be found, lost forever in a watery tomb? Entire civilizations that were drowned and forgotten about?

Magic of The Past. Top Story - July 2021.
I sometimes miss my childhood days. The summer evenings beneath the orange sunset sky chasing lightning bugs. The spring days, spending hours in the field searching for four-leaf clovers. Fall, looking for witches and spooky ghosts around every dim corner. Most of all I miss Christmas time when my granny would come to visit for an entire week. I still remember the sound of her 1964 Ford Fairlane, which was the most exciting clamor and clangor in the whole wide world.

The Haunted Mystery Box. Top Story - July 2021.
I recently joined the notorious internet craze and ordered a Haunted Mystery Box. The reviews we're eccentric and enigmatic to say the very least. My curiosity was heightened and I found myself entering my payment information before I had entirely thought the situation through.
