Oh darling, the warmth of lightning on your skin in the wintertime feels comforting, doesn't it? I know you are still learning what it is for a heart to beat but handing him yours is not the way.
I am all tangled up In your attention Noosed by the Curve of your smile ❀ My heart was A wild, wilted thing Its beats quietening like
Infatuation melted away Like a thawing glacier And I can't put a name To what replaced it but It's less than five letters
I. He is the boy who smiles at you when you are too tired to notice. He is the boy who teases you when the other girls look on with jealousy hidden beneath their fake laughs. He is the boy who reaches for your attention while you grasp at a different boy’s love.
You love him? No. Then who do you find in your dreams each night? Him. Night after night. I let sleep coax me into oblivion because that is where he holds me and whispers the words from my poems.
We were encased In a snow globe Dancing amongst The miniature white specks Just to ignore the fact that We were trapped behind glass
You are the Mountains and valleys Of my heart rate The zigzag stitching Keeping my warmest jumper From fraying further
