Holiday Cigarette
This post is a short creative writing piece; please take the following as fiction and for entertainment purpose only. Life can suck. The idea of waking up to a sober world that runs perfectly, in harmony, aiming towards a common goal bores me. What fun lies within the responsibility, especially when it relates to such mundane topics as personal health. I fall into the abstract routine of constant ‘f*ck you’s’, some thrown at my neighbours while others at the TV screen. The fact that the thing is still standing without my left shoe through it can be counted as a miracle. I began with it, and I’ll repeat it, life sucks. It really, really does. But you know what sucks even more? Me.

How cooking with my partner has become my favourite time of the day
Before the pandemic struck, I found that I seemed never to have the time to create a substantial, healthy meal for myself and my partner. Food deliveries were a common sight at my home, alongside frozen ready-meals and packed produce. The less time it took to make, the better. Now that I’ve found myself inside more, I decided to pick myself up and move my time to the cutting board. For the first time in my life, I began taking notice of what I was putting into my body and spending more quality time with my partner. By combining the two, I feel that I had found something that was missing before the world stopped spinning.

If we do not do something, Climate Change will drown these countries
This post was created with the support of OpenAI. In the canvas of our evolving world, climate change stands as an artist wielding strokes of transformation, albeit not for the better. This phenomenon, characterized by shifts in weather patterns and rising sea levels, threatens to redraw the map of our world, erasing some of the most breathtaking and culturally rich corners of our planet.

I do not look up enough...
A couple of years back, I was walking with an old friend from our university campus, cigarettes in hand, talking about all the liberal thoughts that flow through the young mind. It was some time in the evening, just between the setting sun and emerging dark—the perfect scenario for pointlessly meaningful thought.

My Visit to ChernobylTop Story - June 2021
I have been in love with travelling for as long as I can remember. From backpacking through Western Europe to living in various countries throughout my youth, there isn’t a place I would not visit. I do, however, have a fascination with destinations that many would question at first glance. Areas that have gone through turmoil, holding troubling histories, or seem so out of place that travelling to them becomes more a burden than a means to relax. This is an account of one of those visits, and it has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. This is my account of travelling to Chernobyl, Ukraine, in December of 2018.

Spice up your life with Dukkah!
Spices have been a blessing for us all in the world of cuisine. To obtain the luxuries of the spice world, western countries crossed oceans, fought wars for the spice trade connections, and used spices as forms of currency in trade. Now, with the easy access to the global free market, the improvements to the transportation of goods, and accessibility to anything our hearts desire, it’s hard to imagine the struggle faced in the past to get us where we are today. I cannot help but get inspired and honour all that suffered so that we can enjoy all the flavours of the world. Hence, I wish to share a fantastic spice combination with you, both easily obtained and surprisingly inexpensive for what it delivers. I welcome you to the world of Dukkah.

However, brace yourselves for a twist in the tale, as we introduce you to a unique spider species that prefers a green diet over a meaty feast.

The Picasso EffectTop Story - May 2021
The art world can seem to be one dominated by elitist ideals and big price tags. We see countless articles commentating on record-breaking auction sales and lost pieces retrieved from thieves and the aftermaths of war. It comes as no surprise that many of us, despite enjoying the presence of art, choose not to dig deeper into the field and further understand its beauty, power, and influence. If you think that you fall somewhere in this category, I want to give you some advice that any spectator should know when approaching a piece, no matter the level of interest given to the art sector. It is something that I wish I learned years ago that would have better developed my taste in who and what I like and how to separate the reputation of the artist and their artwork. I would like to introduce you to the thought concept I refer to as ‘The Picasso Effect’.

Zen is a State of Mind; Music is a State of ActionTop Story - April 2021
A strange mix of anxiety and anger stir inside my stomach as I cannot help but lose hope every time I leave my home and realise what is happening to my country. I have been a UK resident for just over 16 years now (I originate from Poland) and have endured my share of hardship in my life, simply for being born on the wrong side of the line in the sand. From school bullying, petty theft of toys, and a constant bombardment of racist remarks, to workplace racism, refusal of opportunities, wrongful pay, and the rise and aftermath of Brexit, I’ve endured my fair share of pain. Life has been nothing close to smooth, but I stood my ground, continued to challenge myself, and moved forward. Despite everything I have lived through, for the first time in my life I am truly petrified to live in the UK as this time, it’s no longer personal, but tyrannical.
