Welcome To The Machine
I've just been struck how much machines are encroaching on our working lives. The Luddites smashed the machines during the industrial revolution because they feared that their jobs and therefore their livelihoods would be threatened. The French threw their clogs (sabots) into the machines to wreck them (hence the word "sabotage"). It turned out the Luddites were wrong , the industrial revolution produced great economies of scale for goods that could be mass produced, and generally standards of living improved.

Sleep And Creativity
I have a bit of a headache , it’s half an hour after midnight , so I’m just into Sunday morning but I feel that I need to write something. I sort of feel if I don't write then I lose something and I can always lie in tomorrow, I don’t have to get up for work until Monday.

My 911
Around September the 10th 2001 I was flying over the East coast of the USA to touch down in Mexico for a two week holiday. I was working for a company called SSS who provided IT support for Morgan Stanley who had a big presence in the World Trade Centre. My mate Jim was flying over for a work and holiday week in New York with some other SSS guys.

Two Free Form
This is a very free form stream of consciousness poem that I wrote , rather spoke , when walking to test if I could upload a story to Vocal. When it finished I tried and got the picture above. Please Vocal make sure all your members can post, not everyone has a computer.

Love Is
I love it when my friends and people I know are happy for whatever reason. This is for them. As this is about being happy I am gonna reuse my video of me playing my favourite Rolling Stones song "Happy" just in case you want to find out how bad I am (that is bad as in bad , not bad as in good) but you can buy the original from the link at the bottom.

Consumerism , Negativland and Pepsi
Coca Cola or Pepsi or Coke or Negativland It's 3AM and because it's Saturday I don't really have to get up for a few hours. Yesterday I had to get up for work and I was really tired, but when you don't have to get up , you can be up during the night and do things like write blog posts. I'm sitting here with a bottle of Coke, well Diet Coke (though I have just noticed it only mentions the name Coca-Cola in very small writing on the label.
