Craig Puranen Wilson
I am updating this to include it in the Vocal Home Town Heroes Challenge. Craig was an amazing person who brought so many people together, encouraged and helped people who need it , and is the subject of and upcoming film aimed at promoting a positive , caring image of Newcastle. I have been interviewed for the film , and will possibly be performing a song I wrote unspired by Craig / Sheena when we lost him / her. The challenge is sponsored by The Mentor Group.

Suddenly It's Christmas
Halloween is over and Suddenly It’s Christmas . I have created a playlist mirroring this that you can listen to here. This was inspired by the Loudon Wainwright III’s song (Rufus and Martha’s dad) which I have led in with , so here are some notes on this non Christmas Christmas playlist.

Joy
My love for my Muse brings me such joy and she is always there to love and inspire me. The music I have included is a slightly cheesy take on Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" one of my classical favourites, but the video is full of smiles and I do like the Apollo 100 version and it is only two minutes and forty second.

Ode To A Butter Pie
An Update To My Ode For A Butter Pie For The Vocal "From Across The Room" Challenge A wonderful friend was in a very mischievous mood last night and suggested I updated this for the Vocal "From Across The Room" Challenge, and she knows I can resist anything but temptation, so I have added a second poem to enter the challenge.

Three Reasons Why I Love Settle
Whenever I go on holiday I always track down places of interest to visit. This is one of the reasons I love coming to Settle. I take April Cottage at the bottom of Castlebergh Crag, and this is a quick rail journey to The Huntress of Skipton Castle Woods by train (a wonderful Willow sculpture by Anna Cross).

An Archimedes Screw
I am currently holidaying in Settle and have places that I enjoy visiting, including walking down to the River Ribble to the weir before the bridge that links Settle to Giggleswick. One of the interesting things that is located there is a water turbine that uses an Archimedes Screw, The basic principle of the Archimedes Screw is to raise water from one level to another ,often seen in irrigation systems and much more efficient than carrying the water in buckets.

My Vocal Family
This was not intended as a poem, but it then started to flow. When I started on Vocal I wasn’t so sure what I was doing , then someone sent me a tip , befriended me and encouraged me, and from that lots more Vocal friends were complementary and positive. I never rate myself but among my Vocal family my poetry is loved and makes me feel incredibly valued. This is for my Vocal family.

Ouija Board, Ouija Board and a Non Seance
In the late nineteen fifties my mum and dad bought three derelict cottages, which had been ransacked by nomarks who had used the doors and floorboards for firewood, but they knocked them together and built a decent family home, although the original dwellings dated back to the sixteen hundreds..
