A Look At Love
Very often people are jealous of people being in love, sometimes it’s not even jealousy , some people don’t like seeing others happy. They look at a relationship and will look for something to snipe at which may be differences in social class, income, job type , education , race , age or gender. If people want to find fault they will do. I used to know someone who had two measures for everything, “Too Much or Not Enough” , and if they couldn’t find a fault with someone then they were “Too Perfect so they must be hiding something.

My Own Personal History Of Computer Gaming
I am going to start this with the reason why I could never learn to ride a motorcycle as a teenager. I learned to drive but when i got on a full blown motorcycle there were so many things to remember and control that I usually ended up just falling off. I could ride a moped because everything was on the handlebars , and a speedway bike was brilliant , just an accelerator and no brakes perfectly simple , but a full blown motorcycle, I just couldn’t cut it.

This is the one you need to listen to , YouTube changed the link to the lead piece This was the first song I remember hearing on BBC Radio 6 / 6Music, spun by Phil Jupitus, It may have been at home when I worked at The Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, but this song has stuck with me for close on twenty years.

When The Sith Lord Lost His Phone
For Christmas, I got a furry black dressing gown with a hood, which when I pull it up makes me look like an evil Sith Lord from the Star Wars universe. I am actually a nice guy and people love me but thought it would be a good poetry challenge to chain up a Sith Lord to losing a mobile phone.

A Sandstorm
I was watching the latest BBC production of “Around The World In 80 Days” which you can see on iPlayer here if you are in the UK, and Phileas Fogg and Passepartout were stranded in “The Empty Quarter”, a concept or area that I have come across before in books by Daniel Easterman and Clive Barker. It is a place of nothingness, just sand dunes and nothing else, a place where you could be lost forever and you could lose your very soul.

The Old Songs Are The Best
The Old Songs Are The Best is a phrase that many people use when they get older. I usually reply that at any given time 95% of music is at best forgettable , and it’s up to us to find that 5% , and I try hard to do that.

The Hurt of Not Writing
Yesterday I didn’t write , but I wanted to . This wasn’t writer's block (I have written a piece on how I deal with this here), this was something else. Normally I can write about anything , a piece of junk I found in the street , something I found at the bottom of a rucksack , a person I have met , an album or book I like , or something that happened to me in the past.

My Love Is A Rose
This is an excuse to re-air my cover of Neil Young’s “Love Is A Rose” which I recorded when rehabilitating my left hand. People say I can do a good Neil Young impression, this is me with the band Spoon covering “Rockin’ In The Free World”.
