One Of Coventry’s Finest Sons Has Left Us
Introduction Terry Hall died aged 63 after a short illness, two years younger than me. I first came across Terry as lead singer with the multi cultural Two Tone ska band The Specials with their EP "Too Much Too Young", the title track being a superb social commentary for the time.

The Numbers
This is a follow-up to “The Typewriter” that you can read here. He was sure that the typewriter was some kind of oracle and had given him six lottery numbers which he had used for his lottery ticket entry. He didn't play often but always only bought one, because only one set of numbers can win a lottery draw. He never watched the draw but preferred to check his numbers in the Sunday paper, he could never understand how people bought tickets and then watched the live draw.

Snow Cats
Introduction The title is a play on words because there are no cats out because of the snow and cold weather. Cats are incredibly sensible in that they are keeping warm and out of the cold, which is a lot more sensible than I am being on my walks.

This is NOT Bruce Springsteen
Introduction That is of course not true, this is a Bruce Springsteen playlist and we know how many great songs he has written but these are performances of songs that he has NOT written and was prompted by me accidentally coming across his live cover of Frank Wilson’s “Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)” which, in my opinion, outdoes the original, and that is one of my favourite records ever. It appears on his soul covers album “Only The Strong Survive” released this year, and though my playlist opens with that song I thought it would be good to dig up some of his other covers for you to enjoy.

My Fear of Fiction
Introduction I don't think I am very good at fiction and don't believe that I could ever write a book. To me, there is too much planning involved and my mind likes to run off in an uncontrolled manner where I reign it in if I get too wild. This is really about how I manage to write fiction despite being scared stiff every time I put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard.
