My heart without you Wistful sapphire on white fire English Stilton-hued
By Megan Stockhill about a year ago in Poets
Let not the time stand still Nor find yourself frozen within it Let not old photographs' colours clothe you forever Taste not stale grudges' sour grape flavour
Grey silken summits Salty arms, white rocky breast Heart full of falcons
Picture yourself if you will Cerulean skies and wind in your hair You haven't ever know freedom until You're on a boat headed for nowhere

Into the lily ponds Thick with rippling songs Cascading greenly for all eternity I wish I were a mermaid to swim in your eyes
Thank you for the adventure you prescribed me That amphetamine handing me the keys to the Ferrari red sunset The haze of honeyed amber fading to satin black
I used to be blue And there are so many shades of blue Cerulean Aqua Azure Indigo Navy blue Sky blue Powder blue Royal blue
I’ll be your water lily White bikini-clad Advancing through taffeta tides For a long-awaited swan kiss Like half of a whole heart
I wish I were more campfire than firecracker Strong and constant, established With a heart full of flames and smoky ringlets
I didn’t know there’d be no rabbits in Wonderland Or that I, Alice, would wear khaki and a tan backpack With a gift shop baseball cap
You turn my eyes heart-shaped in the heartland of my dreamscape The spectral space on my inner spectrum where I started Blank, faded electrum lotuses
South of Heaven Past the mountains And under the lime tree That's where you'll find me End of the twisting road unwinding
