Learning From The Bench: Year 1 in Coaching
What a crazy year to just jump right into it, right? I’ve been involved in hockey for over 20 years now. I started at 9 years old, which is late by today’s standards, and now at 29 years old, I am fresh off of my first season as a “head” coach. If you ask most coaches, they’d say they learn as much or more than they teach their players. I am no exception.

The Last Few Beers
Beer, the drink we never get tired of drinking or talking about. At least that's me. One of my favorite things about beer is the variety that is available out there. All Fight Fans Should Watch 'FightWorld' on NetflixTop Story - December 2018
I had been waiting for this particular show to appear online for a long time. I'm a fan of Frank Grillo both as an actor and as a person. You may recognize him from movies such as Captain America Civil War, The Grey, and The Purge Series, and a role in Wolf Warrior 2, the highest grossing non Hollywood movie ever. Or you might know him from his appearances on podcasts like The Fighter and the Kid and others. He's got tons of action movie chops, and does way more than look the part.

The sport is plagued by bad judging, complicated negotiations, and alphabet belts that change hands frequently, and sometimes without even a fight. Wading through hyped fights and mandatory challengers, and with broadcasts being infrequent and mediocre at best it is tough to draw new fans. Then factor in the competition from MMA, which seems to always be on some channel.

The Hockey Drought Is Almost Over
Hockey lasts from September to June. After the Stanley Cup is awarded, the season awards, NHL draft, and free agency all take place in late June and through July. That leaves us with August. If there is one month that is devoid of real news, substance, and action that we all crave it is August.
