I Quit
Every Thursday afternoon at 3:15 pm, I write out my resignation. Week after week, it’s the same battles with the same people. The same unmet expectations of them all. The unmet expectations of myself. Despite feeling as if my body and mind are deteriorating with every passing moment, I show up and try my best every day. But I’ve come to discover that my best simply isn’t enough.

Dragons and Wolves
I remember the time that she came to my house. We were in grade 12, and she was telling me all about the project she was doing for a subject she was taking called Student-Directed Inquiry. Students would have an entire year to undertake research on a topic of their own choice in this class. The only condition was that the final product had to cover at least three different areas of the Australian Curriculum. To say that she was excited was an understatement! While we were sitting in the lounge room with my 13-year-old sister, India, she talked with great enthusiasm about dragons.
