"I'm innocent, I swear!"
It's a cry that many people behind bars have said, especially during their trials. However, as much as the US legal system is supposed to work on the basis of "innocent until proven guilty," many people who are actually on trial realize that it's more of a "guilty until proven innocent" ordeal.
If there's one thing that I've realized over the years, it's that most people do not want to be around a person who smells foul. I know this, because I've seen what a lack of hygiene can do to one's popularity.
Back in 1950, the idea of being a stay-at-home mom was not just an option; it was a must. Women used to be resigned to being forced to cook, clean, and provide childcare for kids. In fact, up until very recently, the sheer notion that a woman might not want kids was not even considered to be a real option.
When you have a large dog, training can make all the difference between having a wonderful companion and having the pet from hell. Large dogs that are untrained can pose a serious safety threat to other pets, small children, or even their owners. They also tend to be much more destructive than a small dog that isn't very trained.
Kids say the darndest things, don't they? Or at least, they do when you hear that they blabbed a story to their teachers... one that makes everyone wonder what sort of home they're coming from (and not in a good way, either).
There has always been something special about the relationship you have with your dog - something you cannot simply put into words. The world is full of stories that portray the beautiful bond between man and his best friend; stories of love, care and loyalty. Each story makes one marvel at the love of a dog; a mere animal who has the ability to give back as much as he takes. So what if you don't speak the same language as them? There are signs and gestures only both of you understand and that's what makes your bond so special.
