Kamala Harris will be Donald Trump's worst nightmare along with Michelle Obama
From the day that Donald Trump began running for office and during his first term as president, he has expressed intolerance of those different from himself. He continues to call the coronavirus as the "Kung flu" and "China virus." He recently referred to Senator Elizabeth Warren as Pocahontas and said that Mexican immigrants were thieves and murderers. He continuously gives winks and nods to the far right and White supremacist groups and has said disparaging things about women, blacks, Muslims, and basically anyone who is not an older white male. After Michelle Obama's passionate speech at the Democratic National Convention, number 45 now has his worst nightmare staring him in the face.

'General Hospital' 2020 Nurses Ball will take Port Charles by surprise
According to General Hospital executive producer Frank Valenti, the 2020 Nurses Ball will indeed take place. This annual event used to happen each May, but due to the COVID shutdown, that did not happen. Fans will be thrilled to know that it has not been denied but only delayed. Lucy mentioned it last week, and Felix and Epiphany have been on screen. This is always a sign the gala is near but viewers have no idea when it will take place. Valenti did not give a date but said that the ball will look much different this year because of safety restrictions related to the coronavirus. He added, “There is a bang and a surprise and a twist and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Late Night At The Texas Tavern
It’s 3:00 AM and 19 year old Dreyla Jackson has just woke from a deep sleep. She finds herself craving a cheesy western burger from the Texas Tavern in downtown Roanoke Va. Her mom had taken her to this all night diner a few times, but never after dark. Dreyla’s fanily lived 12 miles out in the county and she regretted that she lived so far away. The fact that the Tavern was open 24/7 was sticking with her and Dreyla realized if she lived in the city there would be no problem. She eventually decided she could drive there on her own, from the county. The melted cheese over the fried egg on the chili burger was calling her name, and in her mind she was responding, “Yes, yes, yes”. She got out of bed and threw on her jeans and a shirt and prepared for her adventure.

The Yellow Rose of Texas was a woman of color
I was recently watching the 10 episode show Texas Rising and was intrigued with the character, Emily West, a woman of mixed racial heritage. At the end of the final episode, clips were shown of the actors who portrayed the characters, images of the real people, and a brief history. I was surprised to find that Emily, also known as Emily Morgan was the inspiration for the popular song, The Yellow Rose of Texas. I had never associated the color of the rose with the hue of the woman's skin but suddenly it all made sense.

Daytime soap characters doing their own hair and make up
One of the more noticeable changes that has taken place because of COVID-19 is the different look that the soap stars are displaying. Since taping resumed the actors on daytime drama are now doing their own hair and makeup as well as providing their own wardrobe. I did not pay much attention until this past week because several characters wardrobe seemed out of sinque with how they were dressed in the days prior to the coronavirus. In some cases the changes can be easily detected, but with others not being so noticeable. Here are a few that stuck out to me, so please be advised this is not a critique but an observation of change.
