Gaming fun during the pandemic

The Fall Guys are taking the gaming world by storm and bringing fun, fun, fun, to the summer of COVID-19. Ultimate Knockout was unveiled on August 3, 2020, and is a massively multiplayer party game where up to 60 players can join in online in a wonderful free-for-all struggle. There is round after round of "escalating chaos until one victor remains"! Fall Guys has now currently surpassed Grad Theft Auto in sales on Steam. The remarkable breakout success of this game continues, with remarkable popularity on Twitch as well as Steam. Mediatonic's bumbling battle royale launched a few weeks back and became an overnight sensation.

Fall Guys is now officially the feel-good hit of summer 2020, with over 1.5 million players within the first 24 hours of release. As of August 8, this game surpassed Destiny 2 and Rainbow Six Seige on Steam, with over 121,000 concurrent players. Fall Guys is also the second most popular game on Twitch and at the time the article was written, was number 4 out of the top 10 current game counter. This game is putting a smile on millions of faces which is much needed right now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will definitely put your mind on happy thoughts and chase the blues away.

Currently, you can only purchase Fall Guys for Playstation 4 and PC, (Microsoft Windows). No release date has yet been announced for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. Ultimate Knockout was published by Devolver Digital, produced by Alex Ruse, designed by Joseph Walsh and directed by Jamie Riding. Programmers are Rakesh Vangur and Joel Herber. Rob Jackson is the artist and the composers, are Daniel Hagstrom, Jukio Kallio, and Engine Unity.

Players are represented as jellybean-like figures, who move around a three-dimensional playing field. They have additional abilities such as grabbing, jumping, or diving to assist gameplay. The goal is to "qualify for subsequent rounds by successfully completing each of the randomized pre-selected mini-games." On each mini-game, for added complexity, there are obstacles that appear around the map. Players who fail certain requirements or are too for a mini-game will be eliminated. In the final round, the few players who remain will compete in a final match. This is a randomized mini-game specifically designed for a smaller player size. The winner of the match will be the last player standing. To beat 59 other gamers and win has got to be very exciting.

The in-game currency that is used in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is for the purpose of purchasing emotes and costumes for their character. The game supports microtransactions that will allow the purchase of additional in-game currency. Two types of in-game currency, Crowns, and Kudos are used for purchasing specified rare items. Increased performance during a match will be rewarded with greater quantities of in-game currency, which is a great incentive. Most mini-games feature obstacles that rotate perpendicular to the ground. Two of these are a rotating platform and a permanently placed large rotating hammer. Certain mini-games include elements that demand teamwork.

During team matches, players are evenly distributed into equal groups and must work together in order to succeed at a common goal. Some of them are variants of existing mini-games, such as "Team Tail Tag", where the eliminated team will be the team that has the fewest numbers of tails by the end of the time limit. These are but a few tidbits regarding Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout. If you need something to do to keep away boredom, this is the game for you. Start playing today and knock yourself out.
