According to General Hospital executive producer Frank Valenti, the 2020 Nurses Ball will indeed take place. This annual event used to happen each May, but due to the COVID shutdown, that did not happen. Fans will be thrilled to know that it has not been denied but only delayed. Lucy mentioned it last week, and Felix and Epiphany have been on screen. This is always a sign the gala is near but viewers have no idea when it will take place. Valenti did not give a date but said that the ball will look much different this year because of safety restrictions related to the coronavirus. He added, “There is a bang and a surprise and a twist and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Social distancing should not be too much of an issue because the audience for the Nurses Ball has always been small, with only a few people at each table. The only part of the entertainment where there were a lot of people was when the nurses came out to sing, but this can easily be managed. Valenti did not give specific details but based on the past two weeks, viewers have an idea of what some of the issues will be. Lucy Coe, who hosts the event is currently the town pariah. She used her tie-breaking vote to side with Valentin who became the new CEO of the Quartermaine family business. He also refuses to allow ELQ to bail out General Hospital.

Cyrus Renault gave Lucy a generous donation so she is not hurting for money for the ball. She might, however, find that some people will not support her because she is working with Renault and Valentin. The hospital board accepted the money Cyrus gave them, and now he is chairman of the board. Monica is now up to ears in bad pennies, as one is running her family legacy and the other taking charge of the hospital. There will surely be a lot of tension, but at least viewers know the show will go on.

Scott, Kevin, and everyone who cared about or tolerated Ms. Coe will find her actions reprehensible. There will probably be a dark cloud over the annual gala but things most likely will work out in the end. There are situations going on right now that may also impact the ball. Franco unveiled Ava's portrait and from the look on everyone's face, it must have been sabotaged. Spencer and his dad are working together to get rid of Ava, but Nik might find that he actually cares for his wife and refuse to divorce her. Spoilers say Franko and Liz will make some type of discovery and it could have something to do with the goings on at the Cassadine home. The couple is not in agreement regarding Ava'sportrait because Liz thinks Ms. Jerome is taking advantage of her spouse.

Laura will be busy trying to keep Cyrus from taking over her city and Jordan might be out of a job. Maxie is considering ending her pregnancy without even telling Peter and will make a decision this week. Sonny and his family are distressed because Mike will soon succumb to Alzheimer's. Sam is suspicious of Brando and believes he caused Jason's accident. Spoilers say this week she will see a softer side. No one knows for certain whether Brando is working with Cyrus or not so he will be watched carefully. Portia is full of questions and Curtis is going to reach out to Trina who hates him.

It seems that no one in Port Charles is happy right now and most everyone is leery of Cyrus and Valentin. Nelle is planning to kidnap her son and Nina is confused about Ms. Benson and unsure of her feelings for Jax. I don't know how the time will come together to pull of the yearly fundraiser but Frank Valenti says they will. Stay tuned for updates and be looking out for spoiler alerts and breaking news. The 2020 Nurses Ball may just turn out to be the best one yet. Make sure you don't miss it.
