‘A Charlie Brown Christmas airs on Sunday December 13
It was announced in October that Apple TV had purchased the rights to three Charlie Brown Classics. The holiday cartoons for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas would now be on the streaming service and no longer available on network television. I viewed the Turkey Day cartoon on the local Blue Ridge Public Television Network which is channel 4, on local Cox Cable, I decided to set my TV in advance so I could tape A Charlie Brown Christmas which is scheduled for December 13 at 7:30 PM. Imagine my surprise when the program was not listed on the local PBS network.

Prince Charles, Camilla, and Princess Diana their lives were ruined because of the V word
Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, and his wife Camilla Shand-Parker Bowles seem to have found their happy ending but it was a long and bumpy road. A lot of the drama that got them here could have been avoided if they were allowed to marry when they first fell in love. There are several different stories on what interfered but when you put them all together, along with other facts it comes down to one thing. It was believed that Diana Spencer was a virgin and known that Camilla was not. Charles and Camilla allegedly met for the first time at a polo match at Windsor Great Park, in 1970. They begin dating, but Charles left to serve in the Royal Navy for eight months.

Wes Ramsey could be the next to exit 'General Hospital'
On one fateful day last week, General Hospital sealed the fate of four characters. The bombing at The Floating Rib led to the deaths of Dev and Dustin, put Lulu in a coma, and sent Julian on the run. Viewers are now wondering who will be the next character to leave the show and the majority believes it will be Peter August. Dante came back to Port Charles to get the goods on Anna's son/nephew but that has been sidelined in midst of the drama surrounding the other characters. Nothing has been said regarding Wes Ramsey leaving the ABC daytime drama, but the storyline seems to be dropping subtle hints.

Charles Dickens message to the world falls on deaf ears
One thing that can be counted on during the Christmas season is a variety of television shows, cartoons, and movies that render adaptations of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. I cannot imagine many people living on the earth who have not read the book or enjoying one of the numerous versions of entertainment that have derived it. Almost every one of the stories about Scrooge that I have viewed over the decade's has stayed 100% or close to it when it comes to the wording of the script. Hearing the same thing over and over every December you would assume that many each year would heed the message that Dickens was trying to convey.

Actor David (Squiggy) Lander has passed away at age 73
Death of an Icon The entertainment world has lost another beloved icon. David Lander who was best known for his portrayal of Squiggy on the ABC hit Laverne and Shirley passed away on December 4. The 73 year old was said to have succumbed to complications from Multiple Sclerosis which he had dealt with for more than 30 years. Lander was born David Leonard Landau on June 22, 1947 in Brooklyn New York. He was the youngest son of Jewish parents who were school teachers. Although it's not mentioned, Lander most changed his last name for the same reason as other Jewish actors, because it opened more doors for opportunity.

We Wish You A Merry Christmas Fun Facts
We wish you a Merry Christmas: "We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" is one of the most popular holiday songs. The greetings "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year" are given verbally in real time as well as in reel time. It used to be that store clerks would shout this out as shoppers entered and left various establishments. These phrases can also be found on cards, signs, posters, and decorations during this time of year. The carol however, remains ambiguous as unlike most Christmas songs there is nothing known about it's origin. There are no details regarding who wrote the lyrics and or penned the tune. This is why We Wish You A Merry Christmas remains obscure.

'It's a Wonderful Life' Lillian Randolph as Anne
It's A Wonderful Life: Not so wonderful for one cast member It’s the holiday season and one of the most popular movies is It’s a Wonderful Life. Most people think of the stars Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed when the film is mentioned. I used to fondly remember Karoline Grimes who portrayed little Zuzu. Now it is actress Lillian Grimes who played the maid Anne who comes to mind. She was also known for her television and radio role as Beulah. This comedy received negative reviews from the NAACP as well a criticism in Ebony magazine for its racial stereotypes but Randolph was thankful for the job.

'The Bold and the Beautiful ' fans flip the script on Thomas and Liam
The Bold and the Beautiful writers seem to be doing a switcharoo when it comes to Thomas and Liam. During the past month, Steffy's baby daddy has been becoming more judgemental while her sibling has been trying hard to stay on the straight and narrow. Last week several events took place that now has viewers expressing empathy, sympathy and patience with Ridge and Taylor's son. Dollar Bill Spencer's offspring, however, seems to be headed down a path to being placed on the naughty list. Many devotees of the CBS daytime drama are already fed up with Liam not being able to choose between Steffy and Hope and having daughters with both women.

Practical survival gifts for a post pandemic world
When I was growing up as a child in the 1960s and 1970s, Christmas gifts were toys, games, and clothing for children. Teen girls often received necklaces, bracelets and or rings from boyfriends. Fast forward a few decades and television commercials suggest unconventional gifts like lottery tickets and DNA kits. If we are going to think out of the box, then we must have the mindset of a post COVID world and think in a way that will save lives. I suggest care packages that contain all the items needed that will reduce the chance of contracting the coronavirus so the pandemic will finally begin to disappear.
