The Eternal Pear Tree
With my mother’s incurable disease, I end up with only one solution. The last doctor I saw told me a certain witch could probably help to treat her. He told me the dean of the village had a map that led to that so-called witch. So I went to see her.

The Moon’s Soul
A midnight dance offered to the moon. It wasn’t often she did that, but everytime she couldn’t fall asleep, she would go outside and walk under the moonlight. She often said that the moon was the master of her dreams. The soft light of the moon often had an appeasing effect on her. That night, she decided to dance as an offering for the moon who guarded her dreams for so many years. That’s when she saw it flying across the sky. A meteor lightened the celestial ceiling with a bluish white color just for a second. She stopped her dance to admire that bluish star falling on earth. Was it the moon thanking her for her performance, or was it simply telling her to stop? The light coming from the sky seemed to have landed somewhere close to her. She followed the direction it showed her. She arrived at a small pond. A pond she had never seen before even though she lived near it for all her life. The water in it was so calm and pure that it almost seemed as if it was a mirror reflecting the sky itself. She approached that magnificent pool of water. She extended her arm so she could touch it. However, she didn’t touch a liquide. It was a cold and solid floor of ice.

Life After Life
I got knocked out of my bike. My body got ejected far from it. My head slammed on the cement floor. I didn’t lose consciousness, but I couldn’t move. My body felt so heavy and I had no energy left to move a muscle. Maybe my spine got damaged and made me paralised. I felt sleepy, so sleepy. My breathing was laborious and faint. My lungs hurt a little. My whole body hurted. My head was spinning. My vision got blurry, then everything turned black. I couldn’t really understand what was happening around me, but I could feel everything in my body. The pain slowly lessened and it almost seemed as if I was surrounded by stars just like a night sky. It was as if I was laying on a floating floor. Or maybe more as if I was floating in the water of a deep sea. It wasn’t as if I was drowning, it was as if I was dreaming.

When Dream Turns into Nightmare
Before I start the story, I need to warn you. First, it's based on a night dream I had not so long ago, so it's not a true story (could have been though). Second, even though I did want to become a police officer when I was younger, I never was one so there might be some inaccuracy in the terms or in the protocols. And third, this story isn't made to dissuade people from being police officers, but to make them realise that every decision has consequences. They could be good or bad, but in any case, I'm showing that you should always think carefully when you're in a no-win situation. Think carefully, but think quickly.

My Country is at War
Hi, I’m Sana. I'm a 10-years-old Syrian girl and I’m alone. They dragged me away from my parents to bring me here, in a refugee camp, to take me away from war and conflict. Even if they are only fighting in neighbouring countries, they are close, too close. War, with a capital "W", is surrounding us, it’s never far away. My big brother was recruited to fight in this endless war, he was only 13. It's been two years since we last saw him. He is probably dead by now, like many other children I knew. Death is surrounding us, it affects everyone. Whether it's our loved ones, our friends, our acquaintances or even total strangers to us. A lot of people are dying, not to say the whole world is slowly dying, even me. War kills us, it kills everyone, even strangers who didn't have time to become known.
