The Cottage
Some years ago, when the world was a happier place my husband who was an Anglican minister at the time, and I decided at our almost retirement stage in life, to test the real estate market regarding our financial capabilities. Retirement was looming and the prospect of being dependent on rented accommodation was unappealing. Insecurity of leasing plus the fact that we would be unable to keep a dog pushed us on towards our seemingly unattainable goal.

Just Who Were The Castrati?

Until then I was quite unaware of the Castrati and their history in the 1600s. This is such a bizarre piece of history it is quite worthy of you knowing.

Grief and Loss
It seems to me that “Grief” can appear in two parts of your psyche — one part is where you present to the world as being totally rational, totally together, no problems really while your second inner part is completely hidden and is screaming inside with soundless pain.
