A Player Called This Indie Game’s Voice ‘Cheap AI.’ It Was the Developer’s Wife.
That’s my wife’s voice: a 0.4-hour negative review and an AI witch hunt A player stayed on Luminary’s Steam page for 0.4 hours. He clicked “Not Recommended.” The reason was short: the voice acting sounded cheap and AI-generated, and it pulled him out of the game. He didn’t name a line. He didn’t name a character. He didn’t need to. In 2026, “sounds like AI” is enough to cost an indie game a layer of skin.

I Used DeepSeek Harness and ZCode on Real AI Projects — One Broke Me, One Shipped
dsh and ZCode: a practical comparison In August 2026, two tools appeared on developers' screens at almost the same time. On August 11, ZCode announced that its user count had passed 1 million. Three days later, DeepSeek open-sourced DeepSeek Harness late at night. Its command-line entry point was called dsh. On GitHub, dsh's star count passed 50,000 within twelve hours. In forums, people posted screenshots, wrote long posts, and installed both tools on the same machine, switching back and forth.

I Watched the iPhone 18 Pro Launch. Here’s Why the Pro Max Got Scalped and the Pro Got Ignored.
On September 18 at 8 a.m., barriers were already up outside the Apple Store on Century Avenue in Lujiazui, Shanghai. More than a hundred people stood in line with reservation codes. ZCode Uploaded Full Git Histories, Reflog, and Secrets by Default. Zhipu’s Apology Is Not Enough.
ZCode uploaded repositories by default. What Zhipu owes users now. Zhipu’s ZCode incident is worse than a routine bug. A bug crashes, miscalculates, or breaks a button. ZCode reportedly ran a default-on pipeline that packaged a developer’s workspace and sent it to a remote object store. The uploaded package included the full working directory, complete Git history, LFS large-file cache, reflog, and global application configuration. It was encrypted and sent to Alibaba Cloud OSS. The server issued the encryption public key. The private key stayed in the cloud. Users could not decrypt the package, audit it, or find a UI switch to stop the upload.

The Best AI Video Generators in 2026
AI video generation has moved far beyond the novelty of turning a short text prompt into a few seconds of footage. Today's AI video tools can generate scenes from text and images, animate existing artwork, create digital presenters, transform long-form content into short clips, and help creators build complete videos without traditional production equipment.

Someone built that: the quiet engineering behind the money app on your phone
The other day I split a dinner bill by tapping a phone against a friend's phone. The money was gone from my account and in theirs before we had finished arguing about who ordered the second bottle of wine. Neither of us thought about it for a second. That is the strange magic of modern money apps. They work so smoothly that they become invisible, and invisible things are easy to take for granted.

The Rain in Tokyo Is Stickier Than in Beijing
The rain in Tokyo was stickier than the rain in Beijing. The academic conference was held in an old building at Waseda University. The topic was “The Current State and Future of Digital Humanities in East Asia.” The Chinese journalist sat in the third row, his laptop open. On his screen was a draft about Japan’s AI-driven historical revisionism. His purpose for the trip was clear: find someone inside Japanese academia who was willing to talk.
