Ghanian chiefs have met about the LGTBQI bill, more than enough times. They have proclaimed how moral their culture is, despite one huge thing, women and girls.

Women and girls are being raped and murdered at an alarming rate in Ghana. So much so that some media outlets refuse to report the crimes of femicide and pedophilia. This is where Ghanian bloggers have come to play their parts.

One GHPage News Ghana has posted several of the murders and defilement articles. One of the worst being an 8-year-old, infected with HIV from her mother's married, lover.

These things happen in Ghana without any public outcry.

Still, inequality and discrimination persist. Polygamy and forced marriage are illegal but they still occur. The freedom and right for women in Africa to participate in leadership and electoral processes differs by country and even ethnic groups within the same nation.

Polygamy is illegal in Ghana, yet practiced by many. The laws of the land are often not enforced. Laws vs. enforcement are most of the problems within corrupted governments, like the one of the current administration.

Ghanians even know that laws aren't enforced, with the recent decline in the peaceful ranking, crime was mentioned as one of the causes. The lack of police presence throughout the country as well as the lack of justice actually served. Ghanians are sitting in jail cells for months or even years without having trials.

In recent speech given in Ghana, just hours ago Ghanian chief proudly claims that it's not in Ghanian culture to practice homosexuality. He then states that woman are made for men and to procreate.

There is no wonder why women are shamed for not being able to produce offspring in Ghana. Even in cases where women miscarry a baby, they're often blamed by men for the occurrence. Not all women can produce babies the same way not all men can either.

Impotency is a common issue, listening to this chief, that is all women were created for. The same way he claims in Ghana that there are only 2 religions.

Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is a prevalent problem, afflicting approximately 40% of women and there are few treatment options. FSD is more typical as women age and is a progressive and widespread condition.

What about children? Where do children fit into the culture? A Ghanian man posted a comment on Facebook proclaiming that the Bible "says" women and children are property.

The dowry price is placed on girls and women in most places in Africa and Ghana is no different. Often called the pride price.

Ghanian personality Kwabena Marfo proclaimed that cheating on your wives (and girlfriends) isn't frowned upon in Ghanian culture. Though some claimed what he's said isn't true, there are more than plenty of men with "side chicks", children out of wedlock.

The Ghanian saying, that you'll never know just how many children a man has until his funeral. All these disgusting behaviors have been rooted in culture.

These aren't even the tip of the issues concerning women and girls in Ghana. These are just a few issues that explain why no one seems to care about issues facing women. Not one female political leader has even opened her mouth about these rapes & murders.
