Even before that he had a big name in the streets of New York. A lot of his adventures outside the NBA aren't really documented so it's interesting to hear what happened afterwards.

There's nothing like it in sports. The defense collapses around the ball, the court opens up, a pass or two puts the perimeter players on the run, and someone is left open at the top of the three-point arc. Then - oblivious to the laws of motion, gravity and planetary physics - you wait until the centripetal force in consideration nestles in the nylon and blows the roof off Madison Square Garden.

Most Raptors fans fall in the line of loving and respecting what Vince did for Toronto, and Canada Basketball. There are some fans that are bitter from the way Vince Carter left. That is a whole debate in itself, but I stand on the side of Vince Carter in that debate. I really hope that next season Vince signs a one-day contract with the Toronto and retires a Raptor.

Liam GeorgePublished 4 years ago in UnbalancedDocumentary Review: 'Manchild: The Shea Cotton Story'
The term 'Manchild' has a negative connotation these days. The term is used as a shorthand for a legitimate psychological issue called 'Peter Pan Syndrome.' It's a disorder for people who are unable to feel like grown ups. The term is used these days in a more colloquial sense. Manchild is used often to criticize men who exhibit childish behavior. The term has olde English origins but it could be argued that it took on a more colloquial meaning in 1990 when a young man from California named Shea Cotton emerged on the national basketball scene.
