I delved into Malaysia FulWiley profile with particular interest, especially after Coach Don Staley labeled her a "generational talent." Staley's credibility lent weight to the investigation, knowing her reputation for honest assessments. It's an annual ritual to uncover high school players whose rankings seem absurd, and FulWiley, ranked at number 13, triggered my skepticism. The same suspicion echoed in rankings like Diamond Miller at 17, Olivia Miles at number eight, and Tena Latson at 14. Another player from the 2024 class might also be underrated by ESPN, adding complexity to the evaluation.

The LSU season has become a focal point, characterized by a lone loss amid headlines painting a turbulent beginning. While the team showcased dominance in other games, Coach Kim Mulkey's choice to bench Angel Reese has sparked discussions on social media, prompting inquiries into the team's dynamics. Angel was benched during the LSU game this week against Kent State. The evolving scenario is both intricate and unfortunate, a development not entirely unexpected for astute observers. Kim Mulkey's response, though fitting her coaching style, has led to a prevailing sentiment that a more tactful approach might have shielded her player from speculative scrutiny.

On Friday September 1, John Jay opened the season at home by jumping out to a 2-0 lead versus Brewster. A possible bad sign since the Wolves blew three such leads last year, and the collapses have still been a topic of conversation. “We talked a lot about cracking under pressure,” said Megan Flynn. So finishing was the outcome in mind, and taking the second ball for her team, Zoe Dollar praised her hitters for completing a storyline that always takes place at the net.

To no one's surprise the two teams that were favorited by everyone, coveted as super-teams before either roster even arrived to their respective training camps, and basically the teams that broke the W are on their way to the WNBA finals to play each other tomorrow. Of course my Vegas bias aside, this best of 5 series will be absolutely insane. Vegas and NY were both the #1 and #2 in every major statistic category for the regular season. Both teams broke and set many W records and both are just loaded with talent. The Aces look to be the first team in 20 years to go back to back in the W, and the Liberty after 20 long years away from the finals want their very first ring. Both teams want to prove they're not just a failed experiment. So who wins?
