Where you go to college can be pretty important, powerful alumni can help open up a wider world of opportunity. Now, if you don't get into one of the best colleges on the East Coast, that doesn't mean your life is over. But trust me, college is better than high school.

Freshman year always has its ups and downs. Here are some things that I wish I knew before my freshman year of high school.

Ah middle school… It all seems so nostalgic and funny now, really. Playing hopscotch, collecting stickers, and drawing dicks. On every surface in our range. See, people often like to forget that particular detail about childhood, because it doesn’t seem very sweet or innocent. But I could not imagine middle school without the image of my class trying to hold in laughter for dear life. Almost suffocating and hiding behind books as the teacher stares in exasperated shock at the penis drawing on the blackboard. And that’s what I loved about middle school — the lessons. Go on, call me a nerd, I dare you. I was never a teacher’s pet or was THAT kid that reminded about homework, but I was that kid that thrived off of the closeness and unity of class shenanigans. It did not matter if you were a ginger, fat, weirdo, nerd, a cool kid, or a prep. The shenanigans was a thing the whole class was in on.
Why Is Pursuing a Higher Education Important?
Many of us graduate from high school, toss our caps into the air, and never pick up another book again. This is bad. I don't know exactly when it happened, but somewhere along the way American society has turned increasingly anti-intellectual — look no further than our president.

Katryna WeingartPublished 7 years ago in Education The Art of Instructing Multiple Skill Levels in the Same Classroom
One of the most complicated tasks for the instructor on any level, from elementary all of the way up to university level, is the question of specifically how to accomplish such a seemingly impossible feat as teaching multiple skill levels without assigned assistance. The feeling that an instructor assumes upon being asked to perform such a feat is one of being asked to accomplish the task of being more than one person at the same time. In certain instances, on an individual basis, the feeling may be not only one of an overwhelming exasperation but one where the instructor concludes that he has been surgically selected for some sort of special harassment, with the possible intent of destroying one's confidence in their ability to provide instruction.
H.L. DowlessPublished 7 years ago in EducationPros & Cons of Working from Home
Since I was 17-years-old. I have had every kind of job you can think of. I like to dip my toes. What can I say? I now work strictly from home, with two jobs under employers while I write as well. When people hear you work from home, they get a little green, especially at the thought of changing from pajamas to sweats. (Or just staying in pjs.) Everyone's situation is different and, therefore, sometimes remote work is the best option. I am a single mother of twins, so being able to keep an eye on the home and kids is of top priority. Before you make the decision to work from home, here are some pros and cons to consider.
Yesenia AriasPublished 7 years ago in JournalWhat You Need To Know About Startup Scam Artists
You may be surprised by how many young businesses have formulated unpopular tactics to heighten both their public prominence and revenue streams. It can be hard to believe that said "trusted" companies, whether large or small, could do something that outright negatively effects their customer base, clients, and/or even their staff. It's out there, though, and it's happened before. Such scam startups have appeared much more frequently than you could have ever imagined.
