Tick-Tock Drip-Drop
It was the day before Halloween and I was stuck working until 10:00 pm. Though no one ever comes in after 9:00, since it is just a costume store. I was getting ready to clean up the place and close up, when this guy in his mid twenties came running in the store and ask if we were still open. I looked at him and then looked over to the clock, and said "Yes, we are still open for another 10 minutes. Is there anything I can help you with sir?"

When she snuck out of the house tonight to meet him, she was all adrenaline. Now, waiting under the street lamp, she felt the fear she wished would have befallen her earlier. The street was so dark outside the circle of light — her protection. It is hard to believe that with all the wits adults claimed she had, she would ever be seen standing alone on this quiet empty street so late at night. A shiver ran through her — in her hyper rush to leave, she did not think about the sun stealing its warmth with its travels. And to make it worse… he was late. How long was she supposed to wait for him before she went tail-tucked back home? Was any guy worth this? Even Paul? She closed her eyes and imagined his face. Such perfect blue eyes and the sharp curve of his jaw… She could stay a little while longer perhaps. If his face couldn’t convince her, the thought of making the walk back to her apartment alone would.

It was a very rain night in October. A little lad by the name of Alvy had been sitting at the front window on a couch, mesmerized by the the sound of the rain hitting the pavement. "We are headed out soon," yelled Alvy's mother from the top of the stairs. Alvy's parents had a meeting to go to regarding the job that Alvy's dad had just acquired from a man online. It seemed a little weird getting a job from online but if it paid the bills then it was worth something.

Famous Ghosts with Horrific Origin Stories
Most people have heard of a notorious ghost or two, but they probably aren't familiar with how that ghost came to haunt that particular location. If you've ever seen the hit horror show Supernatural on CW then you know that determining the origins of the haunting is the only way to stop it permanently. Granted, it's a television show, but it makes some sense. Think of it how a detective might work a murder case.

“Look, I’m not gonna pay a couple of hundred bucks for some guy to come out here and tell us that he can’t do anything or try to charge a couple grand to fix it. We just bought this house.” Nick and Amy were standing in their kitchen. Nick was leaning against the counter next to the sink. Amy was standing across from him, looking down at the floor just in front of the sink.

Chapter One: The Silhouette My name is Jay Mauser. Most of you probably don’t know who I am, and some probably think I’m dead. The truth is, I’m alive bright as day, but my brother isn’t. I’ve been off the radar for ten years, unwillingly imprisoned by an institution for claiming that my family has been murdered by a demon.
