Accountability. Top Story - October 2026.
There's a version of me living under this skin that only comes out when the anger sets in To be perfectly honest... she terrifies me to the core the second that switch flips I ain't soft anymore All my empathy vanishes wiped off the map ready to cut you clean out Like a snap. Like a trap. Like you were never a chapter, a line, or a friend Like the story we built burnt out. It's the end. Because when I get mad I don't just state a thought I unleash every ounce of anger from every fight we've fought Every quiet observation Every truth I withheld tucked away out of kindness out of love that I felt I held back the venom to keep you secure but when I open up the vault... someone's gonna get hurt. Chorus: Her names Accountability She's a heavy sound She doesn't give a fuck what we burn to the ground One wrong step and the softness dies cold, clear truth with no disguise I spent so long keepin her asleep now she's pullin out the blade and the cuts run deep I don't even blink when the bridges burn standin in the wreckage of a lesson learned - And that's the dark part... that's the ruinous game The truth doesn't just destroy you and your name It ruins me too Burns my house to the floor Leaves me standing alone in the ash at the door I'm aware of the damage aware of the flaw Fully conscious of pulling out My own damn claws But in that split second I don't give a damn She takes the wheel and shows you who I am Cold as a blade with no flinch in her eye watching the whole world burn to the sky Chorus Kindness was a mercy You mistook it for weak You pushed until the monster had a reason to speak Now the kindness is gone the weapon is drawn She meant every fucking word that she spat on the lawn She doesn't feel regret She doesn't ask for a pass executes justice She doesn't talk out of her ass And the scariest part of this whole brutal ride is knowing that girl is still waiting inside Chorus

Twilight Spaces . Top Story - October 2026.
In that half asleep space, head veiled in linen, you’re just a staircase away from me. It isn’t the house settling. That was you closing the dryer. It was the rattling of the cupboard. You’re grabbing me a cup of water on your way to bed because you love me. Because a cup of water at my bedside is how you tell me. And I close my eyes again and try to go back to sleep but I’m thinking about the spot where your ear meets your face. Thinking of your hair falling across my eyes. Someday I will die. I hope I’m happy when I do. I’ve picked out my burial plot and it’s where my lips used to live. Among the hills of your cheeks, the valley of your lips. I will rest in peace there.

Sasha vs. the Beast. Top Story - October 2026.
Have you ever been inside a Dutch house restroom? It can get claustrophobic. The toilet and shower/bath are usually in two separate rooms. So when you do your business, it is in a room where you couldn't stretch your arms out in either direction. It fits exactly the toilet and, if you are lucky, half an A4-sized sink. We are lucky.

Rachel Reviews: Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson. Top Story - October 2026.
It's a great idea for a story. Christine is a woman who cannot remember her life once she has fallen asleep. Every day, she wakes up and is reintroduced to the people who inhabit her world and every night, she forgets them. It's a difficult thing to get your head round and from a writer's viewpoint, a tricky thing to write about, I would think, but Watson has it all figured out and this is a well-crafted book which is tense and bewildering, leaving you, like Christine, wondering what the hell is going on.

“Hello…” through static came from somewhere in the room. “Hello? Tori?” Tori heard her name, the voice sounded familiar. There was a lot of static and it sounded faint. She heard more static and then heard, “Under the bed Tori.”

The Repast. Top Story - October 2026.
Globs of golden macaroni and cheese, brown on top with bits of black pepper, sat on the plate next to the collard greens, fried chicken, and sweet potatoes. The men, women and children, clothed in their somber attire found refuge and relief in this ritual. Aunt Azalea had just put her husband in the ground. She gasped at the sight of someone she had missed at the funeral. Smiles abounded. A hug and a slow, rhythmic rocking ensued.

The Worm Burns . Top Story - October 2026.
As the world turns and the worms roll in the soil and the clay a mixture of the dead and the not yet born as the world turns and I feel the regret burn and the guilt corrode as the truth settles in my stomach as the acid can't quite dissolve it and eat it as the world turns and the worms roll and turn in the soil and the clay a mixture of the dead and not yet born as the world turns and I feel the regret burn and the guilt corrode as the truth settles in my stomach as the acid can't quite dissolve it and eat it as the self-inflicted pain that sears and years it sears and tears like a knife to butter or bone and marrow, a self-induced comatosal version of living but not quite living is what I am left with as I can't move on sometimes I can't move on and I can't move on but I must move on as the world turns. And it burns and it burns through layer and layer until my skin is flayed and singed and detritus discarded in a bin but not forgotten but not forgiven not nearly enough. As the world turns and the worm burns and I roll in the destitute squalor of my last worst decision. Could I can I won't I would I be better or will the juice of destiny remain bitter on my tongue? When Faust comes calling don't answer don't answer when Proust comes calling take the time to immerse. Immerse. Yea yes yes a thousand times yes there is always hope somewhere anywhere if you look for it search for it as if looking for that one golden ticket to the chocolate factory of a madman with a kindly heart. Satire satire Sartre life becomes a satire of life itself and we are all the poorest of players the poorest of players on a stage designed to corrupt and concoct to entice and erode of sound and fury and signifying everything everything everything and yet nothing. So I wake again and see the faces of the ones I love, hear the calls of the crows, ravens and jackdaws and the odd dog in the distance or just down the hall and I think is it really important to be so struck by fear that hope may never arrive when really hope will arrive if you allow it to arrive and then I just don't know what else I can do but keep moving forward.

An Old Spaniel . Top Story - October 2026.
I have never had a dog die of old age. I do not know what to expect. Lucy’s ears have gone silver, her face is mask, and her paws are flecked with gray. After breakfast she wants a nap in the sun before she will regard the day. On walks she tires sooner and insists on a slow pace. Some days she is sore and stiff and needs to be hoisted onto things or carried up steps. Little things stack atop each other, and in another five years or so, they will pull her to sleep eternally.
