Sunsetting Pride 2024. Top Story - July 2024.
Happy Pride! As Pride Month 2024 begins to sunset, I want to congratulate every individual who has become brave enough to take control of their life and live as their authentic, beautiful self. This is a month when it highlights those accomplishments. From acceptance within families and friends to acknowledgement in the political arena. Starting with Stonewall (and events prior) leading to the Supreme court ruling for same-sex marriages. We are here, we are queer, and we should never live in fear.

About Writing. Top Story - July 2024.
Most people talk about things that bother them as a way to vent their emotions, another way is through writing. As I sit writing in my car, I ponder how much writing, in itself, has helped me become the person I am today. I have endless amounts of pages filled with poems, stories, and sometimes random blurbs. Writing is a window into your soul. The simple action of writing has benefited me; by helping me to achieve a better memory, helping me to learn and grow intellectually, and helping me to communicate my emotions.

The sign back at the hairpin--the first sign in a long time--said they just rolled into Hatter’s Creek, Population 63. It was small enough it didn’t appear on the handmap in Shelby’s lap, yet here it stood, the first backwater township on the fringes of the National Park. The plan was to gas up, restock the snack bag, and press on into the wilderness.

They had already completed their nightly travels and tasks. Now it was simply a matter of waiting for the time to transition. Sandra stood at the back of the room, leaning against a back wall where she could watch the others. A consummate people-watcher, Sandra always found it interesting to imagine who the others were and what they had been doing all night. It was rare for her to encounter someone she knew in the Waiting Room, though she often stumbled upon friends or family members in the execution of her own nightly adventures. Now, though, as she passed her eyes over the room, she felt there was someone she knew somewhere nearby.
