Ghost Writer. Top Story - March 2025.
Over my dead body would I stay here again Date of travel: 29 October â 1 November 2024 Iâll cut to the chase â your house isnât haunted. Yes, it sent shivers down my spine, but Iâll attribute that to the woefully inadequate central heating system rather than any ghostly goings-on. I still canât believe I let myself be tricked â hoodwinked by your website listing. Iâm so furious, Iâm spitting literal feathers.

Grim Reaper, Is That You?. Top Story - March 2025. Content Warning.
âThat should teach her a lesson!â Paolo grinned as he admired the threat he had sent. âTeach who a lesson?â Paolo screamed like a little girl as he fell off his chair. He looked up and there It was, looming over him, waiting for an answer. He stared Its skeletal face under that black hood and the scythe Its bony fingers were wrapped around. âOh no, is it my time to go?â âNot sure what you are talking about but I want to know who did you teach a lesson to. You were looking pretty smugâ, It answered. Paolo eyed It cautiously as he returned to his seat, âJust some rando on the internet. Bitch had it coming.â âSo you decided to harass her with a death and rape threat? What did she do to you?â âShe laughed at a Facebook post.â âWas it your post?â âWell no, butââ âThen it is not your place to âteach her a lesson.ââ âNo, you donât get it. The post was about Lorena Bobbitt. She cut off her husbandâs dick while he was sleeping, drove off with it and threw it into a field!â âI am fully aware of this case. She was abused physically, emotionally, and sexually by her husband. She finally snapped one day and did what she did. I am not condoning it, but to use your words, he had it coming. âHe directly did those things to her, so she directly did that to him. On the other hand, you got triggered by a random girl laughing at a post that was not even yours to begin with. She laughed because karma got him. That is acceptable.â âSo what, I shouldâve just ignored it?â Paolo scoffed. âYes, that is what any sane person would have done. Look at you, picking fights with strangers on the internet, and then blocking them before they could respond. A coward and a sore loser. Pathetic!â Paolo shrugged, âI guess it doesnât matter now since youâre here for me.â Â âAgain, I am not sure what you are talking about.â Its bony fingers clamped over Paoloâs lips and with one swift motion, sliced them off with Its scythe. Paolo screamed and clutched his mouth as blood gushed through his fingers. âWhat kinda Grim Reaper are you? I thought you only collect souls!â he wailed. It held Paoloâs severed lips between two fingers and playfully squished them together. âGrim Reaper? Ha! I am the Grin Ripper. When I see anyone grin for the wrong reasons, I rip it out!â __________________________________________

Skeletons. Top Story - March 2025.
It was a big night for Jane Echols, as she stepped up to the podium and addressed a huge crowd, mainly consisting of women. This was something near and dear to Jane, as she was speaking at her very creation: a huge foundation for survivors of domestic abuse. Her speech, for the most part, was the same one she always gave; consisting of inspiring words and also mentioning the motivation behind her foundation: her daughter, Bridget.

Stillness in the Chaos. Top Story - March 2025.
For the last ten months and counting, our house has been a construction zone. Weâre still living in itâconfined to three rooms. My den doubles as our eat-in kitchen, complete with two freezers, a microwave, an air fryer, a toaster, and a hot plate. The once-quiet rhythm of our mountain home has been overtaken by the high-pitched wail of saws, the pounding of hammers, and the zip-zip-zip of drills securing drywall to studs.

How to Write a Drabble. Top Story - March 2025.
A Drabble is a micro story of exactly 100 words As a format, it's becoming popular here on Vocal and I see more creators using it. So many, in fact, that I believe it now deserves a special tag, similar to "microfiction," to signal the readers that they are about to experience a delightfully short adventure with a well-crafted story.

Small Tales and Visits to Heaven XI ~ Has Won A Literary Titan Award. Top Story - March 2025.
"... presenting spiritual lessons wrapped in the framework of narrative storytelling... The book's strongest element is it's raw, emotional depth... The way spirituality is explained here is less about doctrine and more about personal experience which makes it engaging for those who have ever questioned the nature of existence or had an unexplained experience of their own... One thing that stands out is the book's poetic and philosophical writing style...it dances, it drifts, it spirals into deep thought. Small Tales and Visits to Heaven is a fascinating and thought provoking read."
