Quiet Reminders
Poem with important reminders for myself and others.
when a dip becomes a deep
well that you can't even
climb out to the bright
light of the living
world of the people
who love and need
you to be okay, fine
don't give up on
the fight must go
on and on until you
come out on top
again
#
when a dip becomes a deep
-just-
well that you can't even
-don't=
climb out to the bright
-ever-
light of the living
-forget-
world of the people
-your-
who love and need
-value-
you to be okay, fine
-you
don't give up on
-are-
the fight must go
-worthy-
on and on until you
-of-
come out on top
=love-
again
#
when a dip becomes a deep
-just-
(sharing glances with my love)
well that you can't even
-don't=
(first thing when she wakes)
climb out to the bright
-ever-
(her gentle smile, a reminder of my riches)
light of the living
-forget-
(Catching glimpses of a deer)
world of the people
-your-
(ambivalent to my own and the presence of my dogs)
who love and need
-value-
(a moment shared)
you to be okay, fine
-you
(sometimes we have to really look)
don't give up on
-are-
(really dig to find those moments)
the fight must go
-worthy-
(those reminders, about what makes life beautiful)
on and on until you
-of-
(Other times, it's a simple smile from husband to wife)
come out on top
=love-
(indifferent glance of respect between two fellow travellers in this life)
again
