Mitch McConnel's wife Elaine Chao resigns amid the unrest
The vitriol that Hilary Clinton predicted would rule the Trump administration continues to be alive and well. The entire nation is troubled because number 45 ordered his supporters to storm the White House and they did. Senators and Congress members were ushered into hiding and feared for their lives as windows were broken and doors were being pounded up in n attempt to get in. Offices were trashed and a Confederate Flag was held by one trespasser inside the White House. The chaos is having an unsettling effect on the nation and now, Elaine Chao, the wife of Majority leader Mitch McConnell just turned in her resignation.

Thomas Jonathan (Jon) Ossoff made Georgia history alongside Raphael Warnock as the duo became the first Jewish and African American to be elected to the US Senate. 'Count me out': Graham severs ties with Trump after DC riots
Although Donald Trump had convinced a sizable group of GOP lawmakers to join him in his ill-fated and unsubstantiated claims that election fraud was responsible for President-elect Joe Biden’s landslide win in November’s election, the deadly violence he incited on Capitol Hill this week caused many of his allies to abandon him at the last minute.

Trump’s “Go Home” Message to his MAGA Supporters was a War Cry. Top Story - January 2021.
After president-elect Joe Biden called for the US President Donald Trump to go on national TV and denounce the attacks on the Capitol and Senate grounds, Trump responded by a one-minute video on Twitter. Twitter immediately disabled the reply, retweet, and sharing options for the video.

Raphael Warnock's win signals a new day has come to the Peach state
The news headlines across America are screaming that Raphael Warnock is the winner in the Georgia Senate race. He has made history as the first African American ever in that position in a former Confederate state. Warnock's win signifies that those currently in the White House need to get with the program because US citizens desire a change and more desire change is coming. The Georgia voters have opted for something different and this might very well turn the tide in other areas of this nation. There was a season when Trumpism seemed to be the norm and 70 million voters indicated that they would be happy with 4 more years, Georgians, however, desired, like the 80 million who voted for Joe Biden, to leave all of that in the past.

Josh Hawley has always been awful.
When Josh Hawley announced that he planned to challenge Joe Biden’s victory on the Senate floor on January 6th, It was the first time many Americans were aware of Missouri’s junior Senator. He even got ahead of long time liberal boogieman Ted Cruz in his bid to undermine democracy to boost his own profile. As a resident of Missouri I can tell you, this is nothing new, he’s always been awful.

Alex Padillo and Deb Haland are helping change the face of American politics. Top Story - December 2020.
When I was growing up, the president, Vice President and others in the White House were always white males. I never really gave it a thought until I saw Colin Powell and Condolrrxa Rice serving in the Bush administration as Head of the Joint Chiefs of Dtaff and Secretary of State. During the Civil Rights era of the 1960s, the focus was on equal rights for African Americans and these two certainly proved that progress had been made. When Barack Obama won the US presidency in 2008 and 2012, he made history as the first president of color as a biracial man.

A Visual History of the #YangMediaBlackout
Back in June of 2019, I tweeted about the latest egregious example of MSNBC excluding Democratic Presidential candidate Andrew Yang from their ongoing coverage of the 2020 Presidential candidates. There had been previous examples, but that was the worst up to that point because they had photos of all 20 candidates who were going to be in the first debates, and instead of including Yang as one of them, they included someone who wasn't even going to be there. I then started to add each new example as a new reply, and that ongoing thread has now been covered over and over again with each new example as a source of entertaining absurdity. It's been covered by traditional media outlets like The Guardian, Vox, and The Hill. It's also been covered by new media like Ethan and Hila Klein of the H3 Podcast for their two million subscribers.

Melania Trump breaks First Lady tradition and snubs Jill Biden
There has been a tradition in America where outgoing First Ladies extend kindness to the FLOTUS who will succeed them. Laura Bush graciously reached out to Michelle Obama and offered to help her in any way that she could in the role of First Lady. Mrs. Obama did d the same for Melania Trump but was met with fierce resistance. Melania’s representative said she was an independent woman who did not need help and would navigate the role of First Lady on her own terms. Donald Trump’s wife did however accept an invitation from Michelle Obama for tea. The five presidents' wives before Melania Trump got along well and even posed for photos together.

Americans hope Republicans will settle down after January 20
There is a saying in some churches, that the spirit of the leader falls upon the people in the congregation. This premise seems to be holding true regarding the White House as well. Ever single day for four years, Donald Trump has unleashed anger, hatred, deception, and lies upon the American people. His rhetoric has been so effective that 71 million registered US voters cast a ballot for him to have a second term. Now some of them, along with the majority of the GOP members are agreeing with him that the election was stolen. This is ludicrous to a sound minded individual but those poisoned by Trump's vitriol believe it to be true.

President Kennedy's Insights
There are things that we need to do that we have to do and it cannot be stalled any longer. We must be determined and focus on our life's purpose and we cannot settle for praise but achieve the glory set before us. When it comes to politics, we cannot be easy-going and light-hearted. We must be firm and directed led by the belief that unity is the force that unites us. We cannot fear to do the things that we hope for, to elevate the good nature of all men and women. To see from the eyes of others and give empathy where it is due. Time has changed and our time has come. To do the things that must be done. This is what Kennedy believed in.
