The Outrage Economy
It is ironic how similar the structures are on both sides. ActBlue and WinRed may serve opposite political teams, but they operate within the same kind of incentive system: turn moral outrage into money, lists, mobilization, and political power.

JD Vance Intervenes.
The murder of an English young man, Henry Nowak, at the hands of a Sikh youth bore all the hallmarks of the death of George Floyd. Nowak lay dying on the floor and said, as Floyd did, "I can't breathe". Police handcuffed him as his Sikh attacker accused him of being racist, and Nowak bled out. At first, the police didn't believe him that the Sikh had stabbed him with a ceremonial blade known as a Kirpan. Sikhs are allowed to carry these holy blades as it is part of the 5 Ks of what it is to be a Sikh. However, other communities cannot understandably carry blades under British law, but Sikhs, because of their faith, can. For me, if blades are part of someone's faith, then they should be retained for ceremonial services or events only.

Mojtaba Khamnei: The Invisible Ayatollah Speaks.
Iran has had three ayatollahs to date. One was the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, or IRI: Ruhollah Khomeini. Then, when the old ayatollah died in 1989 following a bitter and devastating war with Saddam's Iraq, Ali Khamenei followed. Khamenei remained the Supreme Leader until he and other political and military leaders were obliterated from the face of the Earth by an American and Israeli attack that started this whole unnecessary war. Iran did not collapse, however, as MOSSAD advised the Americans. The Iranians elected a new ayatollah, the very son of the one they had slain, Mojtaba Khamenei.

When the News Becomes Too Much
I heard yesterday that local news jobs are being cut, and the news passed through me like a quiet mourning for regional communities. It will likely draw still more attention towards the major cities, leaving places that already struggle to be seen or heard standing deeper in the shadows. That feels especially painful because regional stories matter too, even when they are so often left to dim and disappear from view.

Zack Polanski: Open to Andy Burnham Pact.
Zack Polanski, a firebrand leader of the Green Party who has moved the party to the far left, has said he is open to a pact with the Labour Party. Only if Sir Keir Starmer is no longer the Leader and Prime Minister. First, Andy Burnham ( Polanski has expressed a willingness to work with him if he becomes leader and prime minister), who is still the current Mayor of Greater Manchester, will have to contest the seat of Makerfield. And if he is elected to parliament can join the race to challenge Sir Keir Starmer's leadership of the Labour Party.

WW3 Coming Soon
WW3 Coming Soon The fear of a Third World War has returned to global discussions because of rising political tensions, military conflicts, economic rivalry, and growing mistrust between powerful nations. Many people wonder whether humanity is moving toward another devastating global conflict similar to World War I and World War II. While there are many causes of international tension, experts believe one major reason could again lead the world into great wars: the struggle for global power and dominance.

Kill the Bill, not the Women: NC HB1232
In case you’re unaware, there’s a bill in North Carolina that wants to criminalize womanhood. This is the most blatantly Draconian misogyny I’ve ever encountered, and I will most assuredly vote against it. I will divorce my husband if he doesn’t vote against it. I’m calling and emailing my state rep everydamnday until November, when I’ll help vote him out.

US Hits Iranian Minelayers, and Iran Targets US Airbase.
What do you believe, and who do you believe, about the current situation between the US and Iran? There are rumours of a draft peace deal from the Iranian side. This deal includes the stipulations that the US will withdraw its military from the region and lift the blockade on Iranian ports. However, the US has refuted this, it is a "total fabrication". Then there's the ongoing ceasefire, extremely shaky but still holding, or is it? The US struck Iranian minelayers from the air. The US justified this attack by saying these minelaying boats and the mines they were laying were a clear and present danger to US forces. The Iranians said the US action was a blatant "violation" of the ceasefire. Iran said, "The enemy (the US) should know that aggression will be answered in kind". And Iran struck back at a US airbase in a nearby Gulf country, like Qatar, which hosts a very large US military base, indeed. I'm not saying it was Qatar; it could have been the UAE, but certainly, if true, a US military facility in an Arab Gulf country.

Tulsi Gabbard Resigns.
Was it inevitable that Tulsi Gabbard and Donald John Trump were going to part on non-amicable grounds? It seemed on many occasions that Trump and his intelligence director were not always on the same page on many issues. Ms. Gabbard has now resigned from a job, no doubt over palpable differences with her head honcho, Trump. Trump described her resignation in the following words: "We are a little different in their approach". In what sense are they different? What exactly is Trump talking about?
