Len McCluskey has written to Boris Johnson, asking for a direct meeting. Mr McCluskey has also asked for a meeting with Chancellor, Rishi Sunak. Mr McCluskey has pointed to a large spate of redundancies when the furlough scheme ends.
Yesterday, Boris Johnson addressed 250 Members of Parliament (MPs), asking them, to back his 'Internal Market Bill'. Boris outlined that not supporting such a bill could threaten what he called, "the integrity", of the UK. In other words, not backing the bill, could threaten the very fabric of the four nations, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, that make up the United Kingdom.
Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak are facing a challenge from the Labour party to extend the furlough scheme. The furlough scheme paying 80% of workers wages, is due to finish, at the end of September.
